So what happens?
FYI this review contains spoilers. This is another movie without an ending. This seems to be the current trend among filmmakers. I guess they do this to generate conversation about the film; so Nancy what do you think happened? I think he moved to Hollywood and works at a Chinese restaurant. The famous ambiguous ending of the Sopranos finale "Made in America" generated enough talk that the 'consensus' was people don't like open endings. However, I do feel it's acceptable if the filmmaker provides enough clues throughout the film to give the audience the information needed to reach the conclusion without actually showing it. I think there are some clues to show that there is no way out of it for Bruce in this movie. There are too many witnesses and Winter is over.

Really Liked This...But The Ending
I am a big Thomas Haden Church fan so decided to watch this. I enjoy adventure movies and those that favor character development and good storytelling over special effects, violence, etc. This follows a man who has become an alcoholic after his wife's death. He intervenes while a man is attempting suicide and takes the guy in...and then what happens next. Personally, I liked the story, the setting, and unlike other reviewers, found the pace just fine. Would give this 5 stars were it not for the ending, which kind of leaves you hanging. If you like fast paced movies that are built on action, special effects, etc. this may not be for you. But, if you like a good story that gives an introspective account of how a man handles tragedy, his self-demons, and an unfortunate development with an opportunistic stranger, you may really like this.

Watchable
The story is told disjointedly in flashbacks and stream-of-consciousness narration at times. Solid acting but not a whole lot of suspense or mystery to keep the audience's attention.

Alcoholic plows his way into the future
Not particularly poignant or witty, slow, sparse, but apparently there was enough there to keep me watching until the anticlimactic end. Actually, anticlimactic implies that there was a build-up to something, and there wasn't. I didn't dislike it, so it's a three. Seemed very Canadian to a non-Canadian. Take that as you will.

A Bizzaro Revenant-
It's kind of fun to watch THC go to the lengths he goes to hiding from the crime he commits- or was it a crime? The character is a good guy, and in all the ways that count- that quality is really at the core of what gets him in trouble. This is a slow, thinking movie. Fargoesque.

Waste of time and attention
BORING! We continued watching it until the end hoping there would be a point. Eating, walking, sitting in a snowplow was 90% of the movie. There was nothing comical or thrilling about it.

Go to sleep
I have watched this movie probably 50 times or more. The first 20 or 30 I slept through most parts. It's really relaxing and quiet with a few small bursts of him yelling or some noise. And the lady who plays the waitress where he orders the two hamburgers and pie and beer, ah man she is so hot. I love that lady. She has a very small part but she look so good. Most times I will watch it and just see that part and sleep through the rest. I did figure out that the flashbacks are what really happened and not just him imagining things. First 30 or 40 times I thought the flashbacks were him imagining a scenario to tell the cops to try and make him look innocent. But no, the guy was about to kill himself, and he stopped him and invited him over to stay at his house, then the guy robbed him and stole stuff that was mementos of his dead wife, so he ran him down with his snow plow and killed him, then plowed him over and spent the winter way out in the woods. Looks like he got away with it out of sheer no one knowing what happened and him disappearing too.
