Holly Sharpness Batman!
So here is who I am so excited for... The person who has been cooking with cheap/dull knives sawing away at everything!! Your life and joy in the Kitchen are about to change.First, the weight of these is perfect. They are just fun to hold. The inner child in me wanted to do a ninja throw with the paring knife, then I remembered how much I paid for them(Also, dangerous and stupid). Second, there is sharp then there is Wusthof Classic sharp. All joking aside, be careful. You cannot believe how sharp these are. I use to get away with holding fruit and vegetables before halving them for the blender. I literally came within two centimeters of halving my hand cutting an apple. Buyers note. I own Knives from the Classis Wusthof series. Their gourmet series is a step down in sharpness, but still solid. My friend got the Gourmet set as a wedding gift. He could not believe the sharpness of the Classics. From a practicality standpoint, if you are knife shopping I would start with this 2 piece set. 90% of your cutting can be done with a utility and paring knife. Pricey yes, a pleasure to use... quadruple YES!!!

If you need a couple of knives in the kitchen, these are the ones to get!
These two knives are essentially all one needs in a kitchen! The larger of the two can do all the cutting and chopping. It can also cut bread easily (so you can away without a bread knife). The pairing knife, well, it is an ergonomically well designed pairing knife :-) I only suggest a hand-held honing steel (Wursthof!) as an addition (if you don't have one already) to occasionally keep them in top shape. These knives are fantastic! Just hand wash them (no dishwasher!), wipe them on a roll of paper towels or something (so you don't cut yourself) and they will last you a lifetime!I was in search of a replica of a favorite knife, balked at the price for this set, and bought a 5-inch utility knife. It is a fine knife, but doesn't have the space for the holding hand where the handle and metal join (see my photo). So I ordered this set: An instant favorite! We've had a set of Wursthof knives for 20 years. I must say, one easily gets spoiled by good knives :-)

Very nice knife set!
Very sharp, very well balanced, easy to use, no worries about it slipping due to weight or design of the handle. That is saying a lot in my case because I have arthritis in my hands, and my hands can't grip like they used to. I love these knives! The only thing that would improve them, in my honest opinion, is if the price tag were a bit lower. I'm not complaining, however, you get what you pay for. I don't regret ordering them, not for one second!

Wusthof - Simply the BEST
All I buy now are Wusthof Classic knives. Simply the best knives made. Yes, they cost and are expensive but having owned them for years now, I would not have any other. Easy to keep sharp, you just slide them a couple times through the Wusthof hand sharpener and they are good as new. These knives cut through cheese like butter, and through almost anything else. I've nearly replaced my wife's complete set and thrown out any of the old knives we own.Just buy them slowly if you cannot afford a complete set at once. Every Christmas or special occasion I try to buy a couple knives for my wife. She loves them and the collection is nearly complete. I'll never go back to any other brand.

Great knives
Very thick, sturdy knives. Heavy German steel, of course. Exactly the quality I expect from a Wusthof. I didn't expect it to be so short (my fault for not reading the description more carefully) but it's still a workhorse for me in the kitchen. I opted to have it engraved, and I was worried it would be excessively gaudy, but it's very subtle and understated. Happy with my purchase.

Not as heavy as expected and very comfortable in hand!
As I haven’t yet used these knives (they are a Christmas gift to myself and my husband) I can’t rate their performance just yet, but I did open the package upon receiving them to see how they felt in hand. Wow! I was very impressed by the balance and that they weren’t as heavy as I had expected after reading many reviews about the difference between German and Japanese knives. I was kind of expecting klunkers, but these are surprisingly light and feel like an extension of my hand. I can not wait to try them out on some meat and veggies!

High quality, worth it.
If you are bored with knifes that are no longer cutting after 6 months of use even when you sharpen them... Invest in something durable ! One by one (or more...), you end with a nice collection of reliable knifes. I purchased these for my husband (the "chef" at home) who tried all sort of knifes, he is really satisfied with it. I also purchased the set of 8 steak knifes last year and they are still impeccable. One last advice, don't go cheap in the Wusthof collections. Saving few dollars can really decrease the whole quality (see other reviews about cheaper W products), purchase the one with the blade going all the way in the handle for example, stainless steel or carbon for another example, it is worth paying more.
