I installed these spring bolts in about 10 minutes on our walkout door in our lower level of our home (top and bottom). Easy to lock or unlock by pushing up or pulling down. This adds even more strength to to exterior doors beyond knob lock and deadbolt. This spring bolt involves the wood framing to hold against would-be intruders. Ring type services are great for observation, however not much good for immediate protection. These spring bolts should hold, unless an eight foot grizzly is coming then it is everyone for themselves and don't be the slowest runner. Recommend!

I've build a storage drawer for our camper storage compartment and I needed to find a way to prevent the drawer from sliding while driving. I installed these spring loaded latch pins on both sides and everything is great. The drawer is locked securely in place. I was worried that it might be to hard to pull the pin up but it's not an issue, perfect pull force.

Great spring strength for the price

We're using these on top of a vertical lift sash window, so we can secure it 4" open for a breeze. We chose these because the bolt sticking out is longer than most. The only potential negative is the screws are 5/8" long, with actually 1/2" of grab length. For the weight and size of these bolts (and how soft the wood is), these screws could potentially be too short.

Very very easy to install can be used for right or left handed doors.

I bought mine for shed doors to stay shut. Sturdy and not cheap. Works as a latch should. Easy and smooth spring action. Buy them if you need a latch like these.
