Only suitable for center-positive
Since there's no isolation between the sleeve of the connector and the outside, the sleeve is inherently connected to case ground (assuming you're mounting this thing in a metal enclosure). This means that if you need a *center-negative* connection, you have to find some way to isolate the outside of the connector from your metal case, or else positive will be shorted to ground. I wanted to use this to build a guitar pedal which takes a standard center-negative power connection, but I had to isolate the jack myself using epoxy (Milliput). Large heat shrink would probably also work. If your project uses a non-conductive enclosure, or if you want center-positive instead of center-negative. this won't matter to you.
