not sure, but it held up no problem to stopping a struggling 55 pound dog

Can I catch an injured Canada goose with this net ?

We use it to catch lambs, goat kids and poultry. You should be able to catch an injured goose provided it is unable to fly.

would it handle a 50 lb shoat (small pig)?

50 lbs would be pretty strong for this net. I would say no.
