Great Fun Game for 4YO’s & Teaches Fairness
Bought 2 for my niece and nephew. Ages 4 & 5. Great classic game. I used to play when I was a kid and thought it would as fun for them as it was for me. It definitely was. They both love it. Very easy concept for young ones. I love that it is a fair game and everyone has a chance at winning, you do not need a skill to win. My nephew has an obsession with always winning and being a winner lol, so this also taught him that you can’t always win. Helped teach him that “its okay to lose” in his words lol.

Such a a wonderful game for little ones
Such a a wonderful game for little ones. We bought Candy Land as a 'first game' for our three year old. She LOVES it. It's so exciting for her to have a game that she can play without any real help and with rules that she can (for the most part) understand. The board has changed since I was a child but it's still very colorful and lots of fun for a family with a young child (or young children) to play. My daughter asks to play it all the time.

The kids are in love with it
The kids are in love with it. I bought it because I loved Candy Land as a child. I do want to buy the old board for nostalgia reasons but this board is still cute. This is ideal for smaller children with shorter attention spans because the game can go pretty quickly at times especially if you get the ice cream card. My 4, 7, and 10 year old play constantly. Gets boring quickly for the bigger kids (7 and 10) and they try to just use it as a play set and pretend they're the gingerbread men visiting the different places on the board. Classic game and I even enjoy playing with them. They have been preferring it to Hi Ho Cherryo HiHo! Cherry-O Game recently though. The bigger kids (and me) like to play with the Jumbo Marvel Cards Marvel Comics the Avengers Assemble Jumbo Playing Cards with Instructions for Multiple Games (Crazy 8's, Go Fish, Rummy, Snap and More). because the different games are more challenging (snap go fish and slap jack are the faves)

Candy Land for Christmas
I've started my Christmas shopping in September. You can't go wrong with the traditional games like Candy Land even when there are some changes to the "original". I played when I was little, I played with my daughter when she was little and now we will play with my 3 year old grandson. The simple rules, bright colors and fun characters are a winning combination and every version I have purchased over the years has been slightly different. Since I have a long history with the game, I also want to mention that I like the smaller box this came in. I read all of the reviews about thin cards and not being as durable but my grandson is three so I never expect his games to be passed down from generation to generation. If you want a traditional version, make sure to shop around and compare. Candy Land Game

Great game for young kids to practice counting, colors and taking turns!
I bought this for my 3 & 2 year olds for Christmas and it was definitely a hit. However, the quality leaves a lot to be desired. The board ripped in half right after our first game when my daughter was folding it. It's not the end of the world because that what duct tape is for but it is annoying. The game is fun and perfect for young kids. It gives them a chance to practice taking turns, counting and practicing colors. My 3 year old son is obsessed. In this version, there is no spinner to find out how far you move ahead. Instead you draw a card that has one or two colored squares indicting how far to move your gingerbread man. Tons of fun.

I'm glad we have both
This is the classic Candy Cane game with cards, not the spinner. We have the spinner from another game, but the kids broke the board so we needed a new one. I'm glad we have both. I'm not sure which I like better. It also has the old, basic gingerbread men pawns in primary colors. The new game has right colored pawns of various characters with detailed stickers on them. But this is the same old game, where you move spaces, trying to avoid the licorice man. You climb over bridges if you're lucky and try to get to the castle before the other players. Perfect beginning game to teach colors and counting as well as the basics or game playing.

Classic game at an affordable price...
Classic game, this version is just like other versions of candy land as far as the gameplay goes, but it is definitely a cheaper quality. This isn't necessarily a bad thing though - this is a nice affordable set - great for playing with toddlers who may lose or damage pieces. My daughter just turned three and she is learning to play this game, but still requires a lot of adult assistance. She is very interested in the candy theme and graphics.

A bad game gets worse.
Taking into account that Candyland has terrible structure and random card drawing, this construction of the game is very poor. The cards that you pick to determine how far you move, you know, basically the only thing about the game that matters, are made out of what appears to have less thickness than 2 pieces of regular printer paper. If you have a child, within the first game, cards are going to get bent or crinkled. The board was made small enough to fit into a smaller box, which means it folds more times and goes through more wear and tear. The player pieces are definitely the sturdiest part of the game, which is kind of sad, because they have about 2.3 cents worth of plastic in them. If you have to buy Candyland, and you shouldn't unless you hate yourself, don't buy this version. Unless you're intentionally hoping it becomes unplayable in about 4 run throughs of the game, because all the cards will be crumpled. Which you might want, because Candyland is terrible.

Great game for young children. Not quite as good as the original but I love the gingerbread men counters.

A great game for a 3, 4 or 5 year old!
My daughter and I enjoy this game immensely and have played it for hours. Quality is wonderful! I just wished there were more variations in play and how to make it more difficult as my daughter learned to play it very well. It would be great if there were other ways to play than those listed in the instructions.
