if you're used to consumer/small office printers, this one will elevate you immediately to a higher level of printer awareness. The quality is incredible, and despite having an intimidating array of settings and features it is remarkably easy to set up and to get printing on, considering the complexity. Connecting to the printer literally could not be easier; adding it to the company wifi was simple and everything else on the network (including my cellphone) have instant access, so you don't need to be some kind of tech genius to get it going. The ink process was a little scary at first, having worked with older generation liquid ink printers, but clearly Epson has a lot of experience here and has devoted a lot of their engineering effort to ensuring the ink reloading was easy, clean, and a no-brainer once you've done it once. The free ink for 2 years is also a great bargain considering that ink is the main expense and headache of printers in general. I'm very impressed with this machine and hope that we get many years of use out of it.

I had seen the commercials for this printer and thought, "hey I spend way too much money for printer cartridges for my Canon MX870 ($50 a piece). I'm going to try this Epson." It has been amazing! It is a high quality machine and so easy to operate on hour home network. We filled up the ink reservoir with the ink bottles provided and have printed hundreds of pages and still have half the ink left. Exceptional value and great performance!

At first: I have no problem with the product, at first works great, easy to use. I do have a problem with the marketing and the outcome of dealing with that major marketing lure of FREE INK FOR 2 YEARS. This product is marketed as free unlimited ink for two years. You have to pay to send in your empty ink bottles along with paper work to receive a rebate. Then you are in the dark with waiting for your money. They say "please allow up to 10 weeks for receipt of your rebate. Submission processing takes 8-10 weeks for physical cards and checks, and 4-6 weeks for virtual cards ." It's free ink but with a huge leash. I wish I knew this at first. UPDATE 2/5/2024: I just sent in my second ink return so I can get my "easy" rebate. A few short days waiting I get an email saying my "rebate is invalid". They have a phone number that does not have a real person to speak to (just sends you in circles). You have to chat via A.I. chat bot. Finally after you struggle with that the A.I. connects you with a real person that tells you everything you already know. Then you are told their is no error with what has been submitted and all is well. Then told to contact them in 7+ days to check the status again. Shaq does not explain all of this head ache in the ads. I have buyers remorse. UPDATE 4/14/2026: I understand why the workers on the movie Office Space took such satisfaction in beating up the copier outside! I can't wait to upgrade to another printer so that I can beat this printer up outside! Wifi printing is a joke. I have to nearly everytime have to reinstall the printer or plug it in directly. If you are in an office and this is in another part of the building, trust me that will not help your blood pressure. This printer has to be baby sat and prayed over to cooperate. **This is not a set it and forget it. I have $200 printers that are more reliable. Printing envelopes - nope! Don't do it. You have to go through the head cleaning process all the time. Terminology used in the computer and on the unit are different. One says "cardstock" the other says "heavy paper", one says "tray 1" the other says "primary tray".

The printer is a big beauty. It dwarfs my old Epson EF-3540 dual tray all-in-one, which I used to think was huge. This printer essentially provides a new version of my old workhorse, but enlarged to work at tabloid size. You really need a substantial stand with a pad of 21w x 16d to accommodate the base. But that's only part of the story. It requires at least 11-12 more inches behind it to allow for the rear feed tray to fully unfold. And it has this really glamourous MOTORIZED output tray that extends to the front by a good 9 inches when you print something (It auto-retracts when it is powered off.) So your real working area is 24w x 32d. Not trivial in a small office. I have printed and copied letter and tabloid (11x17) using the automated document feeder, and can attest to that function. The fax checked out and got dial tone. It has two paper feed cassettes, both of which can hold full tabloid sized paper. The manual incorrectly states that the maximum size is A3 (11.7 × 16.5 inches). Keep in mind that the cassette(s) actually expand toward the front to hold this larger paper, so they stick out of the front of the printer by about 6 extra inches when loaded with tabloid. One thing I noted is that when I first expanded the cassette, placed the tabloid paper, and inserted the cassette, it felt 'funny', and sure enough, the printer said that there was a cassette load error. I got around this by making the cassette normal sized, inserting it (it felt better), then reaching in and pressing the expansion button to make it large again. I could then insert the paper and print. I will have to troubleshoot this to understand why that bottom cassette had to be 'babied'. I manually set up the printer for fax and network, set up my paper loads, then loaded the driver on my PC and printed away. Everything worked as expected. I printed an 11x17 graphic from PowerPoint (I had specified the tabloid size in the page setup), by simply printing it. I didn't have to choose the paper feed tray, the printer/driver figured it out. Which brings me to a praise - and a concern. This is not your father's all-in-one. With the elegant high definition touch panel, the Lexus-like motorized output tray, and soft sounds, it feels like a multiple thousand dollar office printer. Lots of control over what is happening and elegance. But what concerns me is the fragility of the thing. If I lift a corner of the printer it flexes. My old WF-3540 did not do that; it was much stiffer. The feed trays feel like if I am not careful, I am going to break one. They may well last me another 9 years (They'd better after spending 9 bills!), but I really can't drop one or jam it in hard. A soft touch will be required to ensure longevity. Based on a not insignificant minority of people who experienced failures right at the one year point, I did something uncommon for me, I bought the extended warranty. That means I'll probably never need it!

Alas, the ET-16600 which I purchased was utterly rife with terrible malfunctions! I was on the phone with Epson Support for hours! The worst symptom was the damned printer telling me that it was Out of Paper, when I had, in fact, filled the paper cassettes quite adequately! Also, it wouldn't make a straightforward copy of a document I placed, instead spewing out multiple blank sheets of paper, after I'd set it to make just One Copy: a ghastly malfunction among several! Epson Tech Support finally told me to return the printer for a replacement since none of their suggestions were working to get it to function normally! I'm just praying that the new one they send me actually WORKS as it's supposed to, otherwise I'm going to have to get my money back. UPDATE: I did in fact receive a brand new ET-16600 from Epson and thus far everything seems to be functioning within Normal parameters. However I still have yet to try printing on 11x17 paper as one of the rampant malfunctions of the first ET I received was paper jamming with that size.

I used to be a HP fan. I have had various Epson printers over the years too and I have to say that I am a fan of the super tank versions because ink cartridges are a pain. I have a smaller format version of this one, but the 16600 blows the doors off of the smaller versions. We use this printer for commercial printing projects (high end book publishing) and it really delivers high quality prints, stunning graphics and excellent performance across a wide range of papers and canvas. I highly recommend the investment in this.

Out of box, day one review - Attractive, very heavyweight unit. Set up brochure. Ink bottles have ears on top that set in keyed slots to fill tanks. Ink fills quickly and cleanly. Ink tanks with clear fronts to show ink levels. Set up with DVD or online. Touch-screen for controls tilts out to use. Two user friendly paper trays; bottom holds up to 15 x 19 paper. Rear paper feed folds out to use. When you print, the copy support tray automatically extends out. You can set up for Ethernet or USB cable (cables not included), or WiFi via router or network. WiFi setup enables printing from tablet or smart phone (works great). Good print quality. Tech support unknown.

Purchased the EPSON EcoTank Pro ET-16600 Wide-Format printer in December 2020 and waited four months to write a review because I do not like writing bad reviews. I have been using EPSON and HP printers since the mid-1980s. My very first printer was an EPSON dot-matrix printer that I used to spit-out computer program code like confetti. Printers in general have “devolved” since then. This printer epitomizes the devolution. Nothing prepared me for the absolute disaster of the ET-16600. It was not the hardware. It was the software, the printer firmware. I contacted Tech Support via email once after buying the printer and they responded with information that was helpful but did not then solve the problem. Since setting the printer up I have received three firmware updates and the printer has improved functionally with every update. When I first got the printer any print job from my Windows 10 computer had to be set from the Windows printer properties interface. With the updates, I can now set some–not all, but some–printer preferences from my WordPerfect and other software. After three months and the three firmware updates, I was finally able to get a non-interrupted (“wrong paper tray”, “wrong paper size”, “paper-jam”) 11X17" printout of my graphic landscaping project. The print quality is very good, about what you would expect from an inkjet printer. It compares favorably with my old HP Laserjet printer. The ink tank feature is a definite plus and was a consideration in my decision to buy. It was the tank feature that prompted my decision over two other wide-format printer brands I looked at. Considering the devolution of personal computer printers, I doubt whether the other brands would have been any better–or any worst.

So Far, looking good .... works well with all my gadgets....print quality and speed very acceptable....lets see how long it will lasts.

This printer is an excellent device. It prints very well with an efficient use of ink. Certainly a device to consider if you are in the market for a printer.

My printer doesn't print pages straight. I use this for sublimation and have ZERO issues with the print quality, however when the print comes out, it is a little crooked. I contacted Epson and first of all, their support personnel have zero clue on the product they are supporting. They keep going back to quality troubleshooting and that is not the issue. They refused warranty work because I am using it for sublimation and again, I have no issues with the quality but want the print to come straight. Anyways, lack of product knowledge, customer service is outsourced to Philippines so there was some slight language barrier, but the worst part is that they tricked me to take photos of inside of the printer so that they could say that I wasn't using genuine epson ink and that the warranty was invalid. I just wanted the print to come out straight... that's it.

Two years in, functioning well. I got the insurance but didn't need to use it.

wont connect to lap top and keeps dropping the network. Even used the usb to connect the laptop directly to it and still wont work....useless
