I would give it five stars, but the programing instructions are pitiful : i got on YouTube and downloaded a video on programing it once you understand what the keys actually for , it's not hard. the scanner itself works flawlessly, and the construction of the knob is good and what you would expect. if you're interested is a good scanner and don't mind a little learning curve, then this one is for you.

All these locks are pricey, but this was pretty much the most reasonable we could find. It happens to be perfect for what we needed it for... that doesn't mean it will be perfect for everyone. We use this in a commercial location, some days it gets a lot of use, other days none. The lock/handle set itself is nice looking, just as in the photo. I has only the 4 symbols (not numbers) but was not a problem for us... we wanted it for fingerprint scanning. The item was easy to install, similar to any lockset. The scanner itself is pretty good. To open you do have to reapply your print the way you scanned it... in other words if you pressed it on hard, or soft, or to the left or right, etc. Generally, just light pressure and well centered has the best results. The very first time we tried to enter a print confused us a little, but once you understand the order/process it's easy. After applying the print and getting a tone and green light, you do need to wait a second before turning the handle, otherwise it won't open and you have to reenter print. Having this type of lock without having to do any wiring is convenient. The batteries we bought at Harbor Frgt lasted about 6 weeks, then needed replacement so not sure how often we'll be changing batteries, but it's quick and easy. I believe workmates said the lock wouldn't open when batteries went dead, there was someone on the other side to open the door. So, if that's the case, you wouldn't want this as your only way into a building. The lock did not lose it's memory/programming, so there was no need to rescan.

Used for about 2 months, worked good, first rain product stopped working, changed batteries, still doesn't work. Called toll free number from owners manual for help, number is disconnected.

Great lock. I bought this as a gift for a friend and installed it on their front door. Though we were all a mite skeptical at first, it works flawlessly. Fairly easy install, simple programming and looks impressive. I put it in over 6 months ago and nary a problem. I'm thinking about installing one on MY door. My friends absolutely love it - one less key to hassle with. Wonderful product at a terrific price.

We purchased this and had it professionally installed. We then took the time to download every staff members finger in to the lock. It rarey worked and always took multiple attempts to open the door. After many many many failures we finally broke the lock (and the door) so we could replace it with a keypad lock. Way too expensive to fail repeatedly

Nicely constructed. Very temperamental. Frustrating at times!
