Learning Resources Snap-n-Learn Letter Llamas

Don’t get me started on this toy! I have used it so many ways. I even used these llamas as two letter words and practiced reading with my four-year-old. I am able to practice colors with my two-year-old, practice letters with my three year-old, and practice words with my four-year-old. And my one-year-old is also able to practice his fine motor skills with these toys also!! I love the colors, because it’s not neutral, but they look really pretty together. It’s definitely fun for kids, small enough that you can store them, they are durable, and the paint job does not chip or fade or scratch! You definitely get value for your money!

The colors are very bright and inviting. The product seems very well made and the pieces snap together very easily. The age suggestion says 3+ but I feel comfortable enough with the size for my 18 month old to play with them. My only complaint is that there are only 13 alphabet llamas total, which means there’s a letter on one side and a different letter on the back side. Because of this, you can’t line up the llamas in alphabetical order or spell all words. Overall I would definitely recommend if you’re practicing letter identification.

Bought these for soon to be 1 year old grandson. They are colorful, cute and he loves to chew on them! He hasn’t mastered getting them back together yet, but that is why I purchased them. They will help him learn and improve his manual dexterity! Great purchase!

Bought this after my son loved to play with it at church. He still loves it. The toys are durable and soft. The colors are ok. My son seems to look at some letters. He can pull off the llamas. He doesn't eat them. No sharp edges. The only issues that I have with mine is because one llama is defective, no letters or eyes. My son doesn't notice it but my wife thinks the blind llama is scary. I will be gifting this toy to other families with babies. Great product overall.

Preschool teacher here. I pair it with some castle blocks. Could potentially be a little more boring without pairing it with some kind of habitat or blocks. They love that they can mix up the pieces and colors. I work with ages 3, 4, and 5. I have never ever worked with toddlers and have much much less expertise but I imagine this would be safe for 18 mos and up as advertised. These are definitely fun pieces though. Whimsical. A nice size. I'm impressed for 13 bucks. This company makes great stuff and Amazon doesn't sell much that's good for preschools, I find so this rocks!

I loved how this teaches the association between upper case and lower case alphabet letters and also focuses on color matching.

Je découvre totalement cette marque "Learning Resources" et je la trouve assez géniale ; plein de bonnes idées pour apprendre tout en s'amusant. La boîte contient 13 lamas pour apprendre les lettres de l'alphabet (attention sur la boîte il y a marqué 26 pièces, mais il faut comprendre 13 lamas séparables en 2 moitiés et non 26 lamas). Chaque lama se sépare donc en deux morceaux : à l'avant au niveau de la tête est dessinée de chaque côté une lettre en majuscule et à l'arrière est dessinée une lettre en minuscule. Le but est de reconnaître la lettre dans les deux formes et de reconstituer le lamas ! Sachant que sur chaque lama il y a 2 lettres différentes, une sur le flanc gauche et une sur le flanc droit (ex sur mes photos, le lamas porte les lettres K et X). C'est pour cela qu'il n'y a que 13 lamas et pas 26 dans la boite. Ceci étant je pense que cela complexifie un peu la prise en main pour les plus petits, au moins au début. Mais l'enfant peut s'aider des couleurs au début, c'est un bon moyen mnémotechnique pour commencer l'apprentissage. Le seau qui sert de boîte est aussi super pratique pour ranger les animaux quand on a fini de s'en servir : hop on met tout pêle-mêle dedans et on visse le couvercle. Pratique pour les enfants à transporter avec l'anse.
