Catify to Satisfy: Simple Solutions for Creating a Cat-Friendly Home

We integrated several cat households on a relatively short timetable, and had two cats (older, 12 and 14) abandoned on us. We'd been caring for them, but the owner wouldn't take them to the vet when they were clearly sick, and we finally got all fiery and stuck up for the cats (who turned out to be fairly ill).I couldn't sleep one night while awaiting bloodwork results, so I started reading this book. In the beginning, Jackson talks about Home Bases, and a lot of what he said made a TON of sense, and even though we're currently having a cat in our master bedroom (and the other cats are feeling mighty saucy about it), we're working on cleaning out a room for him so he can have a home base somewhere else in the house so he can feel safe. He (and another of our cats) are the two who felt the most territorial/anxious, and I can't wait to put a lot of this new material into practice.We're at a higher cat capacity than we'd like, but with deaths in the family and cat abandonment, we're doing the right thing over our convenience. We trust Jackson and his books/methods/philosophy to get us through this. I can't tell you the number of times I've said "It's not about where we want it, it's about where the cats want it," or called ourselves "pet guardians." The thing I miss about cable is My Cat From Hell, because I really did learn alot, and while our two anxious/territorial cats are unfortunately on some anti-anxiety meds (It was BAD), we're using his techniques to help keep the stress to a minimum for everyone. Jackson's the best, and I wish I could tell him thanks.

Love jackson galaxy..This book has great illustrations, easy to read and understand

One does not need to be expert to have a pet cat or dog but the more you know, the better you can handle things and ensure the health and happiness of your companion. This has a lot of good info. The author has a popular TV show and books, interesting dude but I will tell you than when ever I have tried a tip he noted, it worked, he knows what he's doing. This book is a compilation of the overall guide, I think, not finished with it, but well into it and so far everything makes sense. Dramatized and cute, but accurate and useful. Good if you have a cat or are considering getting one.

Our family has long used The Cat Daddy's tips and tricks for harmony in our multi cat home, and when the new girls came home after our 20 year old went up to Valhalla, we knew we wanted to 'catify' for a younger generation.To our surprise, we'd already done a lot without realizing it. Providing basecamps for each feline, a super highway and scent soakers. No wonder the girls settled in with the remaining resident cat so quickly!That said, there are a TON of great idea in this book, from catios (a use for that dog run that came with our house!) to shelving run layouts to DIY litterboxes for the stand and spray kitties.We are already planning one ways to catify our new home without making it full of commercial cat trees and fuzzy mice. Second hand furniture, a little elbow grease and imagination, and our two prime age cats and the kitten will have spaces to tap into their inner tiger. Worth every penny.

SO glad I bought this book. It's a fantastic source of inspiration to get my creative juices flowing, for how to apply some of these ideas to my own home. I wish I were more handy with tools and woodworking to make some of these ideas myself, but even for someone like me who extremely challenged in these areas, the pictures and ideas are more than enough to get me thinking outside the box. That said, if you are good with tools and want to get creative with catify-ing your home, this is most definitely the book for you. This book is filled to the brim with colorful pictures - I could probably count on one hand the number of page turns that don't include pictures. Yes, I was already a huge fan of Jackson Galaxy, so maybe I'm a wee bit biased, but I'm still extremely impressed with the quality of this book, and I will be looking into possibly purchasing some of his other books, now that I've seen this one. Bravo, Jackson! :)

All of these are easy to do and there is something for everyone's aesthetic!

Love Jackson & Kate's passion for cats and their perspective on providing a safe, stimulating environment for our furry friends. This book has certainly helped me to better understand why my kitties do what they do. Lots of great advice and do-able projects to enhance the lives of my furry friends. Providing activities and outlets for their innate instincts has helped to almost eliminate the 'bad behaviors" that were driving me crazy. I'm positive that my cats are happier now that I have started to "catify" our home. To keep from being overwhelmed with the idea of creating somesuper-amazing, over-the-top superhighway, I decided to start small and look at this as an ongoing process. I began with an easy, quick project and have continued to add components as my time and budget allows. It is so much fun to watch my kitties explore the changes/additions made to our home!

Great book full of advice and ideas. Love watching Jackson Galaxy’s My Cat From Hell on tv my cat watches as well. Sure if cats could read my cat would read his books😂😂 has she always sits on my knee while I’m reading his books.

The ideas for helping your cat get around the home & create their own space are brilliant & make you think, he's a lovely genuine fella too.Hope he's back on TV soon.

Love this book. The ideas are so inspirational. We haven't caught on to catios in the Uk but fantastic ideas for keeping your furbabies safe if you live in areas that would make you worried for your cats.

excellent book for all cat minions, love it, highly recommend but dont hold your breath waiting for delivery - it took ages!
