Learning remote that replaced my Sony that sells now for around $200
This, of course, is not an exact replacement for my Sony learning remote that crapped out, but it's actually doing the job pretty well. It's cheap and it doesn't require a list of thousands of codes to program. You place this remote head-to head with, say, your TV or DVR machine, hit a couple of keys on your new remote to select the button you want to program, then hit the function button from your old remote. DONE! The directions are obviously wrong on the first couple of tries, it gets the sequence wrong, but it does the job. For, what did I pay, 10 bucks?

Works exactly as promised.
This remote does what it's meant to: it reads an infrared signal from an existing remote control, assigns that signal to a key on the new remote, and sends that same signal from the new remote when that button is pressed. Setup is straightforward. Good performance for a very reasonable price!

Hi! This remote is head & shoulders above the rest for one reason- it learns from your old remote! Please understand, you MUST HAVE your old remotes in order to use this remote. It was easy to set up ,very reliable!!

Don't buy this.
I never had the chance to use the remote simply because I couldn't program it. The instructions were sparse and basically useless . Looked on line for help, but looked to me like it was for a different remote.

Great for a backup or even as your first remote
This remote was easy to program for most devices. Not great for my PVR backup. The price was right and the programming easy. Now when I misplace (often) my TV remote I have a backup!

Good quality and easy to use
This universal remote is easy to program and works with most TV’s, Cable/Satellite boxes and more. It is well made and should last for many years. I bought it to replace the remote for my cable box. It has exceeded my expectations.

Does Not work
I have several Chunghop versions of this remote that work well. This one does not program. Followed directions but will not learn anything. Pieces rattle inside when you shake the remote. LED is low level. Wasted my money.
