Shake it Off: An Integrative Approach to Parkinson's Solutions

More heartfelt than helpful
There are a number of good thoughts in this book but I was hoping for a more cohesive program. He mentions several good treatments and perhaps I can read more about some of them such as DMSO disrupting alpha-synuclein misfolded proteins. But it would have been nice to have the work done for me in an analytic fashion. Overall I appreciated the idea but the execution of this book left something to be desired.

This is my MOST favorite "GO TO" book that I have read about Parkinson's.
In 85 pages Dr. Eckel has thoroughly covered the many layers associated with Parkinson's. Starting with onset of early symptoms; to the progression, diagnosis, assessment, and the many treatment approaches available. How Dr. Eckel writes, what he writes and the information he writes about is very easy to understand. In today's world with the skyrocketing numbers of individuals impacted by neurological degenerative diseases I believe Shake It Off is a must read for everyone. His methodical approach and descriptive writing validates the challenges associated with Parkinson's and at the same time provides hope. I love this book and am so grateful that Dr. Eckel has made his life's purpose to support, to educate , to guide, and to medically help those struggling with the many layers of Parkinson's. And, most importantly, Dr. Eckel does all of this with kindness and cmpassion.

Alternative options for People with Parkinson's.
This is exactly what I've been looking for! A clearly written, easily understandable functional medicine approach to Parkinson's Disease. Dr Eckel covers everything from symptoms, testing, exercise, nutrition to alternative therapies that he uses in his own clinic. He explains his FAN-C brain regenerative program, which he uses with his patients since everyone's symptoms and treatment is different. Thank you for caring enough to search for answers and not just prescribe more medication.

A Holistic Approach to This Challenging Disease
This book is an easy read that is well organized and to-the-point. His FAN-C approach covers heavy metals, environmental factors, other illnesses, genetics, nutrition, exercise, acupuncture, oxygen, near infrared light, IV therapies, etc. as potential adjuncts to the current drug treatments that do not slow, stop or reverse the progress of Parkinson's disease. To use these treatments, you will have to do further research. But, the book is a good way to help you develop a plan.

Dr. Greg Eckel is my hero
Dr. Greg's story is an incredibly heartbreaking one, yet what inspires me most is what Dr. Eckel did with his grief. He turned it into a mission to support others to greater health and wellbeing through endless study of Neurodegenerative diseases and how to get patients well. Dr. Greg has had heart warming and inspiring patient success stories with his work, and wants to educate as many people as possible so that those suffering with Parkinson's and other Neurodegenerative diseases do not have to suffer in silence without a cure. I highly recommend this book!
