This screen was easy to install—just a wire harness, and it worked great. It fit my truck well, even though it originally didn’t have a screen, so I had to make a few adjustments. Once installed, it was perfect.The Bluetooth connectivity is solid, automatically pairing with my phone every time I start the car. The EQ adjustments allow for good sound customization, and the screen layout is intuitive. I specifically bought this for wireless Apple CarPlay, and it works flawlessly. Maybe once in 100 times, it won’t connect right away, but that only happens when I’m running multiple errands with frequent car restarts.One minor issue is that when my car starts, it connects to my phone but doesn’t always open Apple CarPlay automatically. Instead, it sometimes displays a basic media screen with my phone’s music, showing skip, pause, album art, and song info. It’s not a dealbreaker, but I’d prefer if it defaulted to CarPlay instead.Overall, this is an excellent digital multimedia receiver with great wireless CarPlay functionality and an easy installation process. Highly recommend!

Love this radio. After learning how to use, it was perfect for my jeep.

Works great. USB-C end to end from the phone to the receiver. I was able to use the same harness from my Pioneer AVH-4100 NEX stereo from ten years prior. It was a direct swap. Make sure you have the radio connected to chassis ground when you first power it on (stick it in the slot). I had to upgrade the firmware upon arrival, there is a new option to upgrade via the app now, that is new. Excellent crossover settings.The footprint of this is much smaller than the AVH-4100NEX from 10 years prior. Because there is no optical media to support, this unit isn't half as deep as the ten year old unit.Definitely worth it if you want the added charging power of USB-C. Definitely worth the upgrade from a 10 year old Carplay unit

If I could give less than 1 star I would.I have had this unit for 3 months and it’s been 3 months of hate for this unit.Pros: Sound is amazing and customizableCons:1: Pioneer app is trash, not user friendly.2: Unit interface is awkward, clunky, and a mess.3: Unit would consistently reboot no matter the input source. Very frustrating on my 30 minute commute when it would restart 2-3 times4: Updating firmware through the Pioneer app was frustrating and a nightmare. Finally had to update via usb stickConclusion: Pioneer was once my go to brand of choice for car audio. Save your money and get a Kenwood. Heck buy a Boss audio where the UI is easier to use.

This is my third and most expensive Pioneer to date. The instructions included are garbage. Between instructions on Crutchfield and YouTube, I got squared away. The CarAVAssist app is where you need to start and get registered and your firmware updated. That app will actually get your time and date corrected. Android Auto and bluetooth work great. Radio reception is really good. Bluetooth calling is pretty clear on both ends. Installed a parking brake bypass and steering wheel adapter that are working great. The sound settings and the power this thing is capable of caught me by surprise. Some patience and perseverance will get you through the initial setup. It took several attempts and a couple of factory resets to get it to merge with my phone direct line and act right long enough to download, accept and install the current firmware update. Once you get that done, it's gravy baby. I'm enjoying it. Installed in 06 Pontiac GTO.

I was very excited to finally get this head unit and put it in my 2014 Honda Civic. Having android auto had been a goal for my car got a while. This is a nice looking radio and after installation I found that it actually puts out a decent amount if power. I never confirmed any numbers, but I noticed my stock speakers seem to be performing better than before, which is great. It has lots of integration options for gauges, cameras, sensors, you can see check engine light codes, etc. Internet connectivity via your phone. Notifications are supported from certain apps.I installed it paired with the iDatalink Maestro RR and the rHO2 wiring harness. Keep in mind, the wiring harness shows conflicting year models on the box, but the iDatalink website shows it is compatible with a wider year range. The box showed it wouldn't work with my car, but the website said it would and it did. Installation was intimidating at first, but in the end, pretty easy. Wiring diagrams are available on the idatalink website and now I have steering wheel control for audio. I didn't wire my backup camera, but will likely do that later on.The downsides I've experienced with it have been frustrating, but I'm working through them. Immediately after install, I tested the radio with no issues. On first start up after buttoning everything up, my dash lit up like a Christmas tree. After some minor panic, I saw all the lights were related to various sensors and inputs that run through the radio. After a few times turning the car off and on, they cleared on their own. To be fair, my battery was disconnected for 3 days prior which may have been a factor. However, my TPMS system isn't working. I'm unable to calibrate it and can't get a readout on tire pressure. This seems like a common issue people have had and I'm still troubleshooting it.Another issue is firmware updates. To update firmware, you have to connect the radio to your phone via wifi Hotspot, and download the update via the CarAVAssist app. The app has a poorly built user interface and it took me a very long time to get the radio to connect my phone (S23 Ultra). Finally after restarting my phone and disabling Android auto temporarily, I was able to get it to connect. Then you have to go into the firmware update menu in order for the radio to receive the update. This took me forever to get sorted, but finally did.The user interface is alright. I mostly keep it on the Android auto screen and haven't used a lot of the other features yet. I've found that the touch screen is responsive, but not smooth when moving between screens. Considering it's a touch screen, wifi-enabled, smart device bought new in 2024, I expected smoother swiping like my phone, but I'm not a software engineer, so what do I know.One last thing, this morning on my drive to work, the head unit disconnected from my phone and I lost Android auto. I had to restart my phone and manually connect it from my phone. I just updated the firmware last night. I've figured out that the dash lights coming on were a result of the battery being disconnected for so long while I did the install. It's happened again when doing other car work with the battery unhooked. Nothing to be worried about.I've also had consistent issues with android auto disconnecting. At first I thought I was random, but actually I'm 100% sure it's some sort of signal interference. It always happens at the same locations on the highway and it's usually near the express lane scanners that scan your FastTrack pass. I've gotten used to it, but still hate that it does it. Never had that issue when I used plain old Bluetooth on the old radio.The TPMS still doesn't give me a current psi reading for some reason. I haven't really tried to troubleshoot. But I know the system still works because I got a low pressure alert the other day and manually checked and saw the air was low on a couple tires. I refilled them and did the recalibration. It ran without error and it cleared the alert.Update 12/2025:I'm still enjoying this radio. I've actually upped the rating to 4 stars. The only issues I've had with it are actually related to Android Auto and the app, but not the radioitself. I never wired the backup camera to it because I'm pretty sure I'd have to cut and splice original wiring in my car and I don't want to do that. I will say the pioneer app that you need in order to update firmware and such is pretty awful. I've recently been having more frequent issues with my phone and Android Auto completely disconnecting and failing to reconnect unless I restart my phone. I've been trying to check for a firmware update to see if that would help, but the pioneer app crashes on launch every time I open it. Again not a reflection of the head unit, but on pioneer and their app, but this does affect your ability to keep the unit up to date. I never thought of it before, but I'm going to try using a wired connection for a while and see if that helps any. I typically connect it via Bluetooth which I greatly prefer, hence buying a Bluetooth capable unit lol. It's worth noting, Android Auto disconnecting is a known and ongoing issue people have had with various radios and not likely related to this unit. Also one last thing to note, I believe the TPMS issue I was noting previously is just related to my cars capabilities. I don't think my TPMS transmit actual readable data, just a signal to the car that trigger a light if the PSI gets too low. I've never had a numerical read out in my car, so that's likely just not a feature. Of your car has that, it'll probably work.

The glass screen really makes the head unit pop. The colors are rich and it's so easy to see in the sun. It's tiny and leaves a lot of space behind it for wires and such. The built in Alexa seems kind of crippled as it won't let me use the drop in feature (yet). The audio quality is great - love Pioneers quality.BUT The downside I almost dinged a star off the rating is the miserable volume and capacitive buttons. What idiot decided to get rid of good physical buttons is beyond me. Thankfully my steering wheel controls let me have my physical button without delay - but there seems to be a small delay on the screen's buttons and it was so frustrating when cranking up my subs and not having good control to quickly turn up and down the volume.The iOS app to design your screen layout and such is really cool and firmware update was easy. The instructions are subpar on the app, but I figured it out without reading a manual so, I suppose that's intuitive enough.The customization of this head unit is really wonderful. I typically only use carplay for everything - but the layout options with using my phone's hotspot for weather, sports, alexa, etc. makes it nice to have options instead of just carplay.

Software connects and disconnects from my iPhone 17 a lot. Some times it’s couldn’t connects when I turn on the radio. It’s freeze and slow operating. I can’t enjoy music that I stream from my phone. I have an older pioneer unit AVIC-7201nex that i bought on 2018 and works lot better. Only thing that is good is that it’s sound great.

The head unit is a great addition and refresh to my 2006 GMC Duramax. Replaced an older 7 year old Kenwood unit so I already had an PAC RP5-GM11 adapter to connect to the stock Bose system, and this Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX sounds way better, all else the same. The mic with the Kenwood sucked and callers would complain, but the Pioneer mic in the same spot works great, including with Siri. Some advice: Update the firmware right away when you figure out the system and the Pioneer CarAVAssist app which takes some time and patience and clicking. It took me a few tries for figuring out the firmware update through the app over bluetooth and the phone as a wifi hotspot at the same time, but then it worked after the third attempt. After it's all set up and figured out, its straightforward. I really like the Apple Car Play now added to the truck, it connects to my iphone immediately 99.9% of the time. The 0.1% is fixed after I restart my phone. Switching from Apple Car Play to the head unit setup to adjust the equalizer for instance is a bit laggy at first when it loads and then speeds up. I still highly recommend it.

Works great! Works with Alexa and CarPlay. Easy to use and sounds fantastic. Doesn’t play CD’s which was fine for me since I use my phone for music etc. It also doesn’t have a volume knob and I wish it did. Using the touchscreen volume buttons can be a real pain luckily for me I use my steering wheel volume controls but you do need to buy an idatalink maestro or something equivalent for that to work. Other than that I would definitely recommend this pioneer car stereo to anyone. It has many features and options!

This is what I was looking for my Subaru Impreza 2011. I recommend this product. The sound quality is great but my Only Wish “It had an HD display!”

This thing is awesome and really helped modernize my car. That being said, it fits weird and without modifying the car's surrounding plastic trim it is super recessed inside the dash and makes changing the volume a huge pain and looks a little weird. I fixed that and it now looks factory installed.
