Smooth, Relaxing Jazz At It's Best!
Explorations is an album by jazz musician Bill Evans originally released on Riverside label in February 1961. The album won the Billboard Jazz Critics Best Piano LP poll for 1961. I just love these old Bill Evans Trio discs. My first experience with them were the Analogue Productions discs, good stuff, so I did not know how this disc would stack up, but being an SACD, I could not resist. The mastering was done in 2004 by Joe Tarantino of Fantasy Studios, Berkeley. This discs features Scott LaFaro on bass. It's a wonderful recording, and to the untrained ear, many people would swear it was just recorded in 2013, it's that good, and better than many recent recordings of jazz music, so you can buy this one with total and complete confidence, it's absolutely wonderful, no tape hiss, just great jazz music, as if you were there in 1961 listening in person. This is one of those great SACD discs you will NOT be able to find much longer, and for $8.00, come on, what in the heck are you waiting for!Enjoy the music!
