Not what I was looking for
Return it, I need a key lock, but if you don’t it’s really well build, locks from inside.

Good old-fashoned quality! Just like my old one.
Those hollow, light weight knobs from certain chain home improvement stores that last six months are awful. This is NOT one of those! This is the real deal, like from the 60's. This isn't going to get knocked off by a kid with a skateboard banging in through the door.I needed to replace an original on a 1950's porch. Made the mistake of buying what looked the same at a certain DIY store. It was a hollow piece of junk that lasted six months before it was dented and coming loose from its housing. After much searching, this was the only other option. Nary a one here in town that I could check out first in person, so I took a chance. Was very pleased when this one arrived and it was just like the original. Heavy in my hand, solid, and it's already taken a licking through hurricane season. I do wish local stores would stock good quality like this but too many people these days want the cheapest they can get. This knob set isn't cheap, and it's worth it. Very happy.

Don’t do this to yourself. DON’T!!
“Learn from my mistake. I bought this for $30 because it was cheaper, but I never liked how it felt. After about a year, the inside handle snapped in half. Turns out it’s made of cast zinc, not solid brass. Now I’m replacing it with a solid brass one (matte black) for $37 at Home Depot. So I wasted $67 over two years on what should’ve cost me $37 once. I have a solid brass knob on another door that’s over 100 years old. Skip the cheap knockoff — spend the extra $7.

High Quality Latch but Pricey
The QCAA Solid Brass Latch is expensive but well made. The external components are indeed solid brass but there are steel internal components that will rust. I purchased the nickel plated variant and it is a handsome product. The packaging was exceptional and the inclusion of extra set screws indicative of the quality of this manufacturer.

Replaced a different brand perfectly, use thread locker to hold the set screw
My door had a prime-line door knob like this and this item replaced it perfectly without the need for drilling. As other QCAA Solid Brass Storm Door Latch commentators have noted, the little set-screw can come loose. You think the door knob itself is broken, but alas it is just that the knob is turning on the shaft. I found that a little Permatex Medium Strength Threadlocker Blue (not Red) on the set screw threads helps hold it in place.

Not functional
It seems like a good quality unit but the latch barely comes out of the sleeve and I would have to modify it to fix it and then wouldn't be able to return it if it didn't work out. With the latch protruding just a bit it would barely catch so pretty much useless.

easy to install
Great replacement for 20+ yr old original.

Loose--leave knob and handle a bit loose when you screw them onto the spindle.
Leave knob and handle a bit loose when you screw them onto the spindle. If you turn them til they're tight, on the spindle, the knob and handle will not "release" after you open the door: you will have to turn them to open and turn again to close. Once I fiddled with how tight/loose to leave them, it works perfectly: knob and handle both turn back by themselves. Don't know why directions don't tell you this! (or why they don't add a washer or something so they can't be tightened all the way)
