802.11N Wireless USB Adapter SMCWUSB-N4

If all you are looking for is a wifi hotspot, DO NOT download the CD driver that comes with this unless the device just doesn't work in Windows setup (or whatever system). Using this in Windows 7, on two Dell Optiplex desktops, initially this device worked fine as a wifi hotspot for smartphones by just plugging the device into my computers. There WAS no need to download the CD driver, UNTIL I tried downloading the driver on one computer to see if there was added functionality, after which this device stopped working on either computer without using the driver. The CD driver also has the very annoying effect of limiting each "session" to 30 minutes and asking you for $10.95 to ensure uninterrupted sessions--the same uninterrupted ones I was getting for free before I loaded the driver!

We were trying different wireless usb nic devices to see which would load drivers automatically from Windows7 PCs. We needed such devices so we could search the PC builders web site for drivers for newly setup Windows on PCs. These device load fast and work right away. Very convenient.

Works great. The price the free shipping is awesome .. ordered on a Friday got it the following Monday although it might not happen to others that quick.. The adapter came with a extended USB cable in case you need it maybe for reception reasons .. it was a simple plug in type wireless adapter that works great with my WINDOWS 7 computer ... This no longer works. It worked for one day and never worked again.

Don't know why I bought this it is no better than the one I was trying to replace.If you want a good versatile adapter this is not it,it is not dual band however it did prove that there was nothing wrong with my old one.
