Perfect if you're looking for simple
I've long avoided door and window sensors because most of them have an ear-splitting alarm built in, and while I understand the reason for that, I'd rather my dog not be traumatized every time I accidentally set it off. So these ecobee contact sensors are actually pretty perfect for me -- without the monitoring subscription. They're simple to set up, I don't need to change the batteries often, and they do nothing more than send a notification to my phone when the door/window is opened or closed. That's it, and that's the main thing I need from them. For everyone else... Well, you're probably going to find them useless without a subscription. If you pay for their monitoring subscription, the sensors can alert you to motion, turn off your HVAC if a door or window is left open, tell you when someone's home, and remind you to arm the system when you're leaving. Without the subscription, you get none of that, so keep that in mind when considering whether to purchase. Granted, the subscription's pretty cheap, but it is extra money you'll be spending each month.

Work as Intended!
I bought the Ecobee thermostat, room sensors, and these door sensors when they were on sale. So far they work GREAT!!! They notify us through the app every time someone opens or closes those doors (which can actually be quite annoying). We also set up the thermostat to turn off the AC when one of these two doors has been left open for more than 5 minutes. It always notifies us that it has been open for more than 5 minutes, and that it is shutting the AC off.Con: We wish you could set certain times of the day when it wouldn’t notify our phones. And have it be different for each person who has the app.

Got ya!
One of the big selling points for me with the sensors were the fact that the AC unit would turn off when activated by opening the door.Incredible feature loved it worked for the first 30 days. Then all of a sudden feature stopped working when I look at my ecobee account apparently this is a monthly premium feature. You have to pay for this feature, best part after three days you're out of the window for Amazon return kind of convenient?

Very easy to install and connect. Anyone could do it!
I just bought two more of these to add to my home security. They are easy to install -- but MAKE SURE you get the placement right before adhering them to the wall or door jamb. I had to buy super glue to reposition one of them, because I made a mistake. I've been using the Ecobee thermostat for years, and I'm happy with it, so I expanded my Ecobee collection with these door and window sensors.

Really nice well built sensors
The sensors themselves are very well built and are very easy to setup. They also seemed a bit overpriced for what you get perhaps 20 to 25 dollars per sensor would be more appropriate than 40 dollars per sensor. Also it seems to require a Ecobee Haven subscription to make any use of them and for me not having an Ecobee camera it just doesn't make sense. I am currently using Ring Cameras and already have a subscription for that so I don't really need another subscription just to receive notifications from these sensors. Also they sensors don't seem to support IFTTT.What would make these sensors a whole lot useful is if Ecobee enabled their use without a Haven subscription or lowered the cost of the subscription for people not using the cameras. Also it would be really nice if they enabled IFTTT support with them, in my opinion that would make them a whole lot more useful.

Really like the control and the additional sensors to place round the house
When I changed out my 23 year old furnace/ac it was also long overdue to change out the thermostat.I have been very pleased with the Ecobee thermostat and remote sensors that can be paired with it and placed around the house. It came with one sensor and I bought and additional pair of the sensors to spread around upstairs and be able to weight the averaging for AC purposes more heavily based on the up stairs rooms.I like the ability to check the temp in the various rooms of the house thanks to the sensors and set the thermostat up or down as needed, even when I am out of the house.

Perfect Integration for Security and Comfort
These are awesome devices to integrate with your ecobee HVAC thermostat system. Can use to pause/adjust your HVAC or just for security/monitoring purposes or the build automations. Either way these are simple and awesome with great battery life

Easy Peezy set up
Just installed a set on my garage roll up door. Do to garage door and frame height differences, l had make a small bracket to align the Ecobee switches. These new smart sensors are not having any problems with the 80’ distance to my garage door. Playing with the app interface and so far I’m liking everything.
