Great day pack. I use it everyday.
This pack is just about perfect for my needs.I've been fighting with a too-small daypack for too long now. This item is a bit roomier, with more pockets to organize my stuff in, and the pockets are a good size for commuting back and forth to work or going out on a day hike. I don't go anywhere without a first aid kit and something to write on as well as a few other indispensable items. Outer side pocket is large enough for a Nalgene water bottle or a thermos, and you can easily carry two more thermos bottles inside the pack with room left over for a jacket and such. The straps are very comfortable on my shoulders even with the weight of two full thermos bottles. I like the molle loops that let you add additional storage pouches (for binoculars, for example) if you feel the need. The material is stout and the zippers are also beefy. My only complaint, which I believe will go away over time is that the material is so stiff that it's sometimes a bit hard to pull the zippers up and down. I'd rather have it stout than flimsy and this is obviously such a minor concern it hasn't affected my rating. I believe the problem will disappear when the material softens up with use.

Solid bag
Great bag for the price. I've currently owned this now for 7 years and I have not had one single issue. It's currently being used today as my medical truck bag. Great buy!

Great day bag!
I was searching for a budget freindly day bag to take with me in the car and on hikes and came across this one. I ordered it after reading the reviews and was extremely happy with the quality! The seems and straps are very secure and do not feel like they will tear easily. It has plenty of small storage compartments and I love that is has the zippered pockets in the main compartment to help section things out.I took this bag on a 2 hour hike and it was comfortable the whole time. The only downside to this bag for me is that the water bottle holder is a bit small for the bottle I have. I use a TAL from Walmart (I think it is the 40 ounce bottle) and it is an extremely tight squeeze. On one hand it is nice because the bottle will not fall out easily, but you also have to really force it in there. A draw string with a bigger holder would be nice. All things said, I would definitely purchase this again.

Not as good as the old ones
Item was in like new condition even though used - great deal! Overall it should work fine as my EDC pack. The material seems thinner and less robust than my 7year old previous same model pack, the seam sitiching is sloppy, the top handle is sewn on not velcroed, the inside pouch is smaller, and the organizer pouch on front is tight to get into. Only Time will tell wether the quality is still there.

A true ninja pack
This pack rules. Its tough, light, and has a spot for a water bladder. For a day trip or small excursion you really cant go wrong. This is my EDC pack, it goes in the truck with me. Its a champ in that role, zips up tight and hasn't broken yet.The front pouch acts as a med kit. The main pouch holds an MRE, water bladder and small loadout of gear. The MRE stabilizes the bag but can be deleted. With the molle straps you can holster up anything in coyote brown to the outside of the pack. The opposite side is elastic and will hold another water bottle, bear spray or whatever else. You can really cover a lot of ground with this pack. The material is quality and hasn't started to fray. The zippers and buckles have not broken yet. With some padding inside it makes a tactical laptop case. This is the best pack i have encountered at this price point.

Worked out better than I thought it would.
This works great for day hikes. I tried it out on a week long trip early this month and was pleasantly surprised as to how comfortable it was. The main large compartment has two zipper-close mesh pockets and a pouch for a hydration bag leaving enough additional space for camera, binocs, lunch, warm jacket, etc. The smaller front compartment has one large zipper-close mesh pocket and seven organizer pockets of various sizes for pens/pencils, utility knife, notebook, first-aid kit, whatever; with room left over for a light wind-breaker, book, etc. On the left side is a pouch large enough for a one liter Nalgene bottle. I realized I needed a way to carry my trekking poles so I purchased a add-on water bottle pouch. The Molle system made it a cinch to attach and carry the poles and not have to take up space in the main compartment. If I don’t need the poles the add-on pouch fits a one liter bottle. I especially like the draw-string top on the pouch; it helps keep items from bouncing out when scrambling.Overall I am very pleased with the pack - highly recommended. I did rub some candle wax on the zippers to smooth out their operation. If you don’t need to carry a ton of stuff take a close look at this pack you might find it a good choice.

New branding, same good pack.
I had an identical pack that I purchased at Walmart years ago that was labeled field line. That pack is more than 8 years old and was used daily for work. It has journeyed to the woods, the lake, spent hours strapped to the back of a motorcycle...I’m still trying to completely wear it out but it’s not quite there. The inner lining eventually ripped but that didn’t stop the function of the pack, it is starting to wear thin on the top but a quick patch would bring it right back in shape. It’s the right size for a day to 3 days. It has several small outside pockets that are great for keys, glasses, ammo. I bought this SOG version and it seems the only difference is the branding. It is currently performing the above listed tasks and seems to be handling them with the same boring reliability. I hope in 8 years I have to worn but serviceable packs.
