Grinder doesn't work? I have a solution
So we got a problem with a grinder as well after about 2 years of amazing experience. We took the grinder apart, cleaned and even vacuumed, nothing helped. What helped like magic was to unplug it from the socket for a while, then plug it back in. It's just a bug with coffee sensors, that's it! Reset is a solution.Trust me, it's a great machine! Italian coffee at home.

Defective product and no return option
We enjoyed this machine so much we bought a second one for our vacation home. Sadly, it did not work the second I took it out of the box.I called Amazon to exchange it and they said they DO NOT do Exchange or Returns on this product. Even though they say they will on the product description.I made a call to DeLonghi after I spoke to Amazon. They sent a part to try and fix the problem which had no effect. Several long dissertations over then phone with tech support, they finally admitted that yes, the product had a problem. We had been more than patient, but our fuse was running low. I asked for a replacement. So sorry, DeLonghi says, we don’t have any in stock, we can send you a different model or you can wait six weeks.OK, we give up, just refund us. Now it was DeLonghi telling us that they don’t do refunds. We finally sent a long angry email delineating in exquisite detail the incredibly irritating “customer service” process we had been subjected to, just trying to get some help with a unit that was defective out of the box. Including a screenshot of the Amazon page saying “Refundable”. We pointed out with some asperity that we had been loyal long-term DeLonghi customers with multiple purchases of their higher end espresso makers, but that they had completely destroyed that relationship, and that by putting a series of increasingly difficult barriers in the path of their real customers to get help with problems DeLonghi has created with their own poor quality control and poorly trained technical support staff, DeLonghi was literally destroying their brand’s future. That finally got a response from a higher level person, who agreed in an argumentative fashion to refund our purchase. Oh but it takes 6 to 8 weeks for a refund to be processed. Sure enough, it’s been 2 months and no refund yet. These units are beautiful, but as former loyal DeLonghi fans - this company sucks. If you choose to buy anything from them, cross your fingers and hope there aren’t any problems. We will never touch a DeLonghi product again.

Spectacular Espresso Machine!! So versitle
We have had this machine for 11 months and it has been nothing short of awesome. We didn’t want to spend $3000 on a fully automatic machine, so after researching we found this semi-automatic one for around $900.It makes great espresso drinks. It makes a great cup of coffee (2 shots on “coffee” and hit the hot water button to fill up the cup). We use it like this several times a day.It makes hot water for tea.It froths and makes flat foam drinks (I love flat whites with almond milk). A little tricky to get the frothing wand sleeve to seat properly, but not a big deal to me).We descale it when the machine tells us it’s time. (About every 3 weeks or so since we make a ton of drinks through it). And we clean all areas that are recommended in the manual. We are thoroughly pleased that it has had no problems since we bought it - especially considering the every day use it gets. It’s a bit of a pain to refill with water, you have to reach behind it and lift it out. If it’s against a backsplash and ubder a counter, you have to ease it out slowly or slide the whole machine out. It would be nice to have it on a slide out platform inside a pantry cabinet.I bought a kit to hook it up to a line to automatically refill it, which I haven’t installed yet. I’m handy, but a little nervous about drilling holes in it.The Italian Racing Red color is spectacular too!

DO NOT BUY
I bought this machine in November 2021. After one year of normal use, this machine doesn't work! The grinder cannot work anymore. Since the product is out of refund time, I had to call the customer service of Delonghi. They told me to open the grinder and vacuum it... After several rounds of "fixing", the grinder stopped working completely! I called back Delonghi. The customer service was nice but they told me to send it back and repair it twice before they offer a refund. I wasted hours on the phone with technicians but the machine is not working! I have bought Jura, Braveille and none of them had any issues like this! For this price tag, I would recommend any serious coffer lover to go buy something different! This machine has terrible quality for its price. You DO NOT pay $900 for a machine that lasts for just one year! And there is no refund after 12 months! Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere! Save your money and time!

Perfect for phenomenal cafe quality drinks- lacking for plain espresso
My wife, who in here 35 years has never been a coffee drinker has been turned into one over the course of the pandemic and every day starts with me playing barista for her. This is the perfect machine for a daily latte or Capuchino- easy to use, quick to clean, and high compliments from the wife. In fact she has expressed disappointment in other forms of coffee we get while traveling, whether from our hotels or cafe's at times (not always, but we have what she likes dialed in)I have been unsuccessful in pulling the perfect shot of espresso to drink on its own, it does lack some grind sizes and i am not a skilled barista by any accounts. that being said- great americanos either iced with milk or hot.I think this is a perfect machine for any kitchen, great starting point and possibly finishing point unless someone has a desire to pull the perfect shot of espresso as an after dinner drink- but if thats your jam im guessing youre looking for individual grinder and more artisanal machine.
