Leak-tight, works
This is a great option for repairing a ruptured 1" polyethylene irrigation tube. The screw-on connectors get nice and tight and the assembly doesn't leak. Just a word of caution: look closely at the coupling and you will see that each end has hose barbs. You have to push the tube all the way to the last stop. If you partially insert the coupling into the tube, the screw-on connectors won't "bite". I didn't realize this and cut out a section of tubing that was too large, so I had to get a second coupling and repair it with some extra tubing. Look carefully and measure twice! It also helps to have some tubing cutters to make a nice clean cut. I have ratcheting tubing cutters that I got for PVC pipe; they are more or less useless for PVC because PVC is too brittle and thick to get a clean cut without distorting or breaking the pipe. But they are perfect for polyethylene tubing.

This really does fit HDPE pipe and it's very secure.
This works really well and has a better flow rate than a plastic barb. Even if you heat the pipe, it takes a lot of strength to slip the HDPE pipe over the flare. I had to put both ends in at the same time. The threading mechanism does not need tools, but it's easier if you just use channel locks. Feels way more secure than a barb, even a stainless barb.

Worked Great!!!!
Ok, I was skeptical. But it worked fantastic. Installed on a non- pressure line going to the sprinkler bodies. Not the constant pressure line. Tip: The pipe being repaired must be a straight shot (no curves). Highly recommend. This saved me a lot of time and labor.

Made my irrigation channel great again.
Not particularly easy to install (not the fault of the product), but once completed worked well with zero leakage.

I got the wrong size but feels sturdy
I got it a little big but that was my fault. It feels sturdy though. Just make sure you get the right size. I see some people rating this pretty bad for their own mistake. Lol thats very common unaccountability.

Not for smaller ground openings
It probably works fine if the pipe can move easily. Unless I dug up a garden or a sidewalk, I couldnโt lift the pipes high enough to use this.

Easy Peasy
These coupler made it extremely easy to repair my poly sprinkler line when a large tent spike went through line. A normal coupler would not work since I had to cut out a 3-4 inch section that was damaged. In order to user traditional couplers I would have had to have two of them plus small extension piece of poly to bridge the wider gap. No need to heat gun, torch or lubricant to get this coupler on as you don't have to push it in as far as a normal coupler. The collars screw on the outside of the pipe and hold things very, very tight. No leakage at all. Does need to be a relatively straight line shot, curved sections would now work. Definitely a good option to have in the toolbox, and very inexpensive also.

Fits my 1.25" OD/1" ID lawn irrigation pipe perfectly.
It made the repair to my lawn irrigation line really easy. The outside diameter of my damaged irrigation line is 1.25" the internal diameter is 1". Installation was a breeze after I cut out the damaged section.
