PILOT"CUSTOM 743 / Black" (nib : Posting)

The PO nib is unique to Pilot - I know of no other manufacturer to offer it (I beleive only on the 912 and this 743 models). Not surprising as today's steel nibs are rather rigid and essentially achieve the same level of line uniformity. The PO nib is designed, with a turned down nib tip, to prevent line variation due to varying hand pressure. It works - I find the PO nib, which produces a line width much like an EF nib, to produce even better line uniformity. If that is what you want in your writing than this is a unique product that delivers.

CUSTOM 743 has it going on… the photo is trash but the best it could be given the lighting. The gold glows brightly while the body shines icy black in contrast. The review… First, the pen arrived early. Second, it is a gorgeously phenomenal writing pen. It writes with such a razor fine line that I can write on any regular paper, no bleed or feathering. PERIOD. It works amazingly well with Iroshizuku take-sumi. The lines are very dark and very very thin. The precision you get is awesome. Your letterforms and ligatures are very crisp and very clean. Thirdly, it is a beautiful pen. Fourth, it is a beautiful pen. It feels good in the hand - posted or not. Finally, that nib, that nib, that nib, OMG! I can’t stop writing; PO is the way to go. I will definitely get another one! Thank you Pilot!

This is my second 743. The posting nib does not flex. It produces an extremely fine line, although not quite as fine as the 912 posting nib, which I bought about a week before purchasing this one. Obviously, I like the nib quite a bit. I own several Pilot gold nib fountain pens. I use them for drawing, and it is nice to have a range of nibs. The posting nibs are fantastic for fine detail, clear line illustration, and crosshatching. Comes with a con70 converter. Highly recommended.

The posting nib may be Pilot's most elusive nib. It is only available on three models of pen and it is not currently offered by Pilot in the United States. This pen was sold by a pen shop in Japan and I am glad that they made it available through Amazon. The posting nib was designed to be used on cheap paper and I have found it to work very well on the poor quality paper that most paperwork comes on. It even handles post-it paper better than any fountain pen I have ever tried. Note that I have been using the pen exclusively with Sailor Kiwa-Guro, so the pairing may be what makes things work. Anyhow, the Custom 743 with the Posting nib has rapidly become one of my favorite pens, It is something that I am always reaching for when I need to fill out paperwork.

This item was everything that I expected it to be. I purchased it because I had seen one that a friend had, and I liked it. I am also very familiar with the Pilot pen company and know that they make excellent high quality products. So, I was/am not really surprised that this pen is everything that it was advertised to be. However, in future I will pay extra for expedited shipping. Japan Post is certainly reliable, but SLOOOOOWWW.

The posting nib on the Custom 743 writes an extra fine line, but is smoother and more easily controlled that the regular extra fine nib. Very pleased with this purchase.

国産及び海外メ-カのニブ1)EF 2)ＵＥＦ:プラチナ:センチュリー3776 及びプレジデントを利用しています。いずれのぺんも素晴らしいが、特に、鉛筆やボ−ルペンに慣れた方で、細かく、速く漢字や数字を書く方に、パイロット万年筆の限られたペンしかないＰｏニブをオススメです。ただし、鉛筆や、ボ−ルペンのように力を入れて書いては、いけません。

20年以上セーラー万年筆の"PROFIT"を使っています。細字を書く必要性に迫られたのと、PILOTのインキ"iroshizuku「月夜」"をどうしても使いたくて、"CUSTOM743PO"を購入しました。全長が"PROFIT"より1cm程長く、まだバランスに慣れていません。ただ、付属コンバーターの吸入量も多く、お気に入りのインキで書く文書は何とも言えない満足感があります。早く"CUSTOM"のバランスにも慣れたいと思っています。ありがとうございます。
