Saved Me the Replacement of My Sears Garage Door Opener
This Multi-Code 109020 receiver works great. ...and the price was right. The built-in receiver of my 1998 Sears Craftsman Garage Door Opener stopped working. I added this Multi-Code receiver to it and now I have a remote that is functional again. My Sears Garage Door Opener is a two-wire system back to the wall switch. Therefore, I had to separately get the 24VAC transfomer to make it work. (Linear Multi-Code 1092-07 Garage Door Opener 24V Receiver Power Adapter). Everything was easy to install. I also purchased a Multi-Code 3089 remote (300MHZ, 10- Code Switches) for my home and re-programmed the built-in homelink remotes in my vehicles. Your better off buying the remote separately. For some reason, it's cheaper than buying the combo receiver/remote from other vendors. The old Sears remotes are not compatible with the Multi-Code receiver. Get yourself a universal Clicker remote if you have multiple garage door openers that have different frequencies/coding than Multi-Code and you want to include them together in the one remote. No Prime shipping with this, but it arrived with free shipping in 4 to 5 days.

Replacement for 25 year old unit.
This receiver is used on our driveway gate. It get a lot of use. I believe the old one was installed about 25 years ago. The programming switches were slightly different but in the same order and orientation. Program it, attach 3 push on connections and feed the antenna wire thru the "grommet-ed" hole in the opener case. I also put the receiver in a "Zip Lock bag to help keep rain water out. Snap it into the clip in the opener case.My opener provides 24VDC to the receiver. Oddly, the dc is applied opposite of the markings on the receiver case. (IE +24VDC goes to the Common terminal.) It's how the old one was wired so I copied it and it works great.

Good product
Replaced receiver on 23 year old garage door opener with this. Old receiver wouldn't communicate with home link in my cars and the single remote was falling apart. Easy to install and set up. Worked right away with both the remotes and homelink.

Additional equipment may be required
Rather than replace our perfectly good 30 year old garage door opener just because a couple of our transmitters quit working, it made more sense to replace just the receiver and transmitters at about 1/3 of the cost. In the description for the receiver, it says it works with any opener. This isn't exactly true. It will work, as is, with any opener that has a 3 wire connection. Since mine is 30 years old, it only uses 2 wires. Turns out that I also need to buy an adapter that converts the 3 wire to 2 wire and includes a power supply for the new receiver. Cost for the adapter is around $15; not a lot, but it would have earned 5 stars if it had mentioned this in the description.Also... ironically, the company sells a bundled package with a receiver and transmitters at a higher cost than if you buy them separately so be sure to compare the cost options.
