Can I plug my bass into this amp and get reasonable sound for practice?

If you are expecting any kind of real bass feel, this amp won't give it to you. I would rather spend the money on a bass-buddy, it's like a little personal guitar amp. It clips to your belt and you plug your guitar in and then slip on the headphones. For the bass, it gives you several bass setups like 'slap' or 'fretless' . If you don't want to use headphones, run the headphone jack from the bass buddy into a stereo input and you'll find a better sound.

What kind of case can be used to protect it? It is very light and needs something.

You can use it normally. It's plastic but it's well built. However if you use it in extreme condition you have to protect. But If you use it normally..be care only in front part where you can find speaker. In fact speaker could be demaged. But this problem is for all amply big and small

Is it compatible with a bass guitar

Yes and no. The speaker is very small. Yes, the bass guitar can plug into it and make sounds. No, a bass signal would overdrive it so much that you would probably hear more distortion than bass. This thing is really tiny and light. It is about the size of a medium-size paperback book, just thicker (front to back).

Would it be possible to connect an MP3 player to this amp? Don't need stereo, just sound.

There is a spot to plug in a microphone, so if your MP3 player has a plug similar to that of a mic, it would probably work. And if it doesn't work, I suggest you keep the amp and buy a mic, because it is a ton of fun at parties.
