Very good torque wrench for gunsmiths
I like how easy it is to set the torque and how comfortable the wrench it. It's easy to apply pressure because of it's size. I use it to mount scopes, reassemble rifles after cleaning, and occassionally to attach a gas key.I'd recommend this torque wrench to my buddies.

Works great, I think there is some confusion over how it works in reviews.
So, like lots of other folks thought the wrench came cranked up to the highest setting and when I tried to reduce the torque it appeared to not go below ~65 in/lbs. I was frustrated because I'd read of this exact same issue that others had. Well, I think by reading those reviews I was preset with the idea it may not work and so immediately assumed it was the same issue. Here's the thing. The top of the grey bar in the gauge just happens to sit at the max setting. I assumed it was at the max and tried to dial it back.. However, if you dial the torgue up instead you'll soon see a white area with a red line increasing from the bottom. I was fooled, too. I have to believe at least some if not most of those reviews did the same as me.Once I figured out how it actually worked, well, it actually worked. I haven't had any issues with it myself. I used it to tighten a stock to barrel ~70 in/lbs. and once done simply reduced the torque to the bottom.I hope this helps someone.

Does the job
The Weaver torque wrench seems to be of good quality and meets my needs for scope mounting. The torque graduation scale is too small to read well and is hard to set accurately. I do feel this tool will prevent over tightening of the base screws and ring screws, even if it's a few inches off. I would recommend this item to anyone who mounts scope bases and rings

Useful with no substitute
If you're installing any screw on your gun, especially scope mounts and rings, you better have this tool. This is a quality device. It comes with a factory calibration sheet. I found it easy to use. Just read the instructions as you would for any quality tool. I've already used it to install scope rings and a scope to my Ruger American. Both the scope mount screws and the scope ring screws have their own torque requirements. If you do this by hand you will undoubtedly torque the screws unevenly and you'll get a bit over eager and tighten the screws too much. It's a natural thing to do. But, you may break the screw, strip the screw or crush the scope. Not Cool. This torque wrench will prevent that and apply an even torque to all the screws making for a professional installation and one where you won't worry about having tightened the screws too much, too little or unevenly. This is a tool worth having. In case anyone is wondering, I don't work for Wheeler and I don't know anyone who does. Nor do I have any financial interest in the company. I haven't even bothered to find out where they're located. This is just a good tool.

A very Well Made Product
If you have never used or owned a torque wrench, take a moment of two and study the calibration and how to set the torque. But, once you understand the mechanics of how this thing works, its amazing. Very Very well made, heavy duty and does a great job. I highly recommend this tool!

Just the ticket for gunsmithing and great product support.
I needed this because one of the manuals for one of my rifles recommended torqueing specific screws to specific torque settings. Having been a machinist in a former life, I probably could have trusted my expertise, but I erred on the side of safety. It is good to know that the three screws are now tightened to the specified settings. No stripped threads, no screws loosening up on the range.I did have a quality issue with the first one that was shipped to me (ironically a stripped thread on the driver itself - I couldn't set the torque), but the seller quickly and without question replaced the wrench. The replacement kit worked beautifully.

Overall, a good product for the money.
The only thing I can find wrong with this torque wrench is the lines are in 5 in/lb sections. Some torques call for 22 and so forth. Other than that, it is a great product. I almost went with another brand but chose this one. I am glad I did. It has a higher torque range, the clicks are audible and you can definitely feel them. Comes with hand written torque specs. The torque setting is on the bottom so no chance of changing it when using the wrench. Overall a great product! Especially for around $50.

Good Product!!
I really like this tool. Its a must have for accuracy. Torquing down the forearm screw will get you me the same amount of pressure on the barrel of my Rugar 10/22.... Mounting scopes great to have as someone said its common thing to over tighten the screws... I'm guilty lol it will pay for it self just by not crushing the tube of your high-end scope or just about any other scope these days lolOn my first use the magnet in the end did fall out ;-( ... I just use a dab of JB weld on the end of the magnet then pushed it back in with a peace of wood (anything non-metal) a bit would have worked but didn't want to take the chance of it getting glued in there for good..Then I took a Q-tip and wiped any excess I could see. And its as good as new...well since this one was new.. better than new lol Magnet works perfectly now.I liked this better than the fat wrench because of its better range adjustment and bigger handle for better gripe....
