No it doesn’t come with a bag.

Does this product have a lock feature so that it can't accidentally switch itself on in your backpack and drain the battery?

To the best of my knowledge there is no lock facility on this torch so your best bet is to pack it somewhere that isn't too crammed with other stuff (I've never had an issue with it accidentally switching on) or keep it in the perspex box that it comes in (but this will add a bit of weight).

Is there a large print version of the user manual? I tried to find one on their website but got attacked by loads of annoying pop-ups

Hello, there really is not a lot to know. To charge it, the lead is supplied, plug it in to any usb socket. There are only 3 user buttons so really easy to use. We would rate the product as very good and have ordered a few as required for our work. Regards David

Do you have to charge it for a period of time when you first receive the touch?

Yes , better to charge it before first use. The battery may only have half the power , when leaving the seller.
