Though I have not yet used my grain mill, as soon as I began to unwrap it from the box I knew immediately that it was a quality product. Firstly, the weight of it told me that it was not some cheap "knock-off" that would break the first time I used it. It is solid, heavy cast iron and I believe it will last me a lifetime.Secondly, when I opened it and saw it, my first thought was: "It's beautiful!" It is shiny silver, and I love shiny, sparkly things! This is pretty enough to leave in my kitchen 24/7, even when I don't need it. It looks both professional and vintage at the same time.In the dark days ahead, when the power goes out (by storms or otherwise) I can still grind my own organic, healthy grain and I won't have to rely on electricity to do so.Did I mention that it is EXCELLENT value for the money?

The hopper is nice, it is stainless steel. Easy to clean. But, the hopper goes over the outside, not within, so that the grains go down into the unit.The rest?? Junk!! Sure, it is casted, but it is painted silver, including the grinding part. Difficult to put together. Not appropriate for food. Returning.So disappointed.For those who will ask. Clearly marked on box that it is made in China.

For home use , this Hand work manual grinder is great. I did try several different grains together like black bean, black rice, black sesame… seems grinding well. For the price it is worth it.

Didn't care for this silver oily metal. Iron I believe! Went to a stainless steel model next; much better, and U don't have to post-use oil coat it.
