Q: How do you tune this?

The best way to tune this type in my experience is to use an SWR meter with a 3' jumper coax to lower your SWR You will trim a small section off the bottom then put the whip back in the mount then test again if the SWR read high like 3.5 start by cutting off 4-5 inches to get started then 2-3 inches until you get it where you want it, Check SWR reading each time and be sure to have cab door closed when re-testing avoid being parked beside other trucks when possible find an open area, (1). You will need an SWR meter and (2). one 3-4 foot coax jumper. (3). a small pair of bolt cutters that can be purchased at harbor freight and will come in handy cutting any type of antenna evenly for lowering SWR reading.. If you want a quick fix you can simply tilt the whole bracket forward until the SWR is Lower but it won't ever be the best it could be until YOU take the time and spend the extra cash to have the tools to tune it correctly or pay the CB shop to do the job right.. But you'll only pay once for the SWR meter est 24.00 / coax 14.00/ Bolt cutters 12.00 it'll cost you that much each time you have the CB shop do it plus all the time waiting when you do it for yourself you'll learn more about CB tuning and maybe help one of your friends save time and money too... good Luck hope this helps..

A Legit Wilson Whip.

This is a legit whip replacement for a Wilson 2000/5000 Trucker Antenna. This is NOT a stand alone antenna. You can't hook this up to a CB without the aforementioned Wilson 2000/5000 antenna. All that said... Fair price and fast shipping. Item as described. Comes in Wilson packaging. Replaced my broken whip with this new one and everything worked as expected and no antenna light. Buy with confidence.
