A little fussy, but a great way to extend the life of an iDevice!
Switching to the iPhone5 was a scary idea for me since I've got so many iDevices... but this little guy eased that burden for sure! It was a little fussy setting up at first; it didn't seem to like that I have 2 wireless access points, and for the device to work initially I had to move one of my WiFi devices onto the same access point for to work, but then seemed OK afterward. There have been a few times that the audio has been choppy or has disconnected, but it's hard to say if that's the device or AirPlay... I've seen similar behavior with my AppleTV so I don't want to judge too harshly. Really the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the initial setup wasn't quite flawless, and I have had to unplug/plug the device a couple times after not using for a period of time; it just disappears from the AirPlay list.Overall good product, a little pricey, but that's literally the price you pay sometimes to be ahead of the curve.

This thing is amazing! It saved me $$$!!!
I have a Klipsch iGroove SXT 30-Pin iPod/iPhone Speaker Dock. I have been wanting a wireless speaker system of some type in my house so at first I tried the WaveJamr. This device uses Bluetooth and did an OK job. But when I started looking around the web at what was out there now I decided that I wanted to use AirPlay instead of Bluetooth because of sound quality and ease of use from all of our iOS devices and Apple computers. I did some digging and found that the Dolry is really the only device that will convert pretty much any 30-pin docking iPhone speaker system into a wireless AirPlay compatible speaker system. Before I found this thing on the web I was actually looking to buy a Bose Soundlink Air, a Sonos Play 3, or something similar. That would have been hundreds of $$$$ more. I am so glad I decided to give this little device a shot. Setup literally took less than 5 minutes. I download the app "DOLRY Music" on the Apple AppStore and followed the simple step-by-step instructions that I was walked through within the app. This allowed me to name the device (living room, kitchen, etc.) and it also allowed me to join the little device to my wireless network. That was it! I was shocked. Immediately afterward I started playing a song on rdio on my iPhone 5 and pressed the AirPlay button. I was excited to see that the device was there as an option in the list and after connecting (took 2-3 seconds) it started playing my music. The quality was MUCH better than the Wavejamr. I am VERY happy with my purchase. If you are looking to get some use out of an old iPhone speaker dock this device is an awesome way to upgrade it to AirPlay.

Nice product, Good Service
First off, make sure you buy from C4 Electronics, the manufacturer, and not any of the resellers. This is to insure that you get access to customer service. I just received the Dolry yesterday and was dismayed to find that the iOS app was no longer available to download (the app is necessary to connect the Dolry receiver to your wifi network). I emailed C4 electronics customer support this morning and they responded in minutes and directed me to a replacement app. I've now got Airplay through the 30pin dock on my Sony HiFi. Satisfied customer here.

This is exactly what I have been waiting for
I just received my Dolry yesterday so this review might be a bit premature. The Dolry or Hi-Fi Stone as it is known, was extremely easy to set up thanks to the simple instructions that were included. So far, this works great on my Bose SoundDock. I no longer have to plug in an Airport Express to stream music which is great for listening to music on my deck...nothing to plug in. The price is a little high, but I think it's probably worth it.I was also pleasantly surprised to receive my unit in about a week. The estimated delivery was for about a month out, so I was super happy to see the package in my mailbox yesterday.***Update*** I had to change the review to 2 stars. This worked pretty well for about 8 months and is now worthless. In order to hear whatever I'm playing, I have to crank the volume on the receiver. I emailed the company asking for help, but my email went ignored. I tried updating the firmware, but I constantly get a message that reads "Failed to connect with device, please check the network." I have tried to rest it, and no luck. I'd suggest looking elsewhere.

It works as described
It took a little doing to get my old, iPod Hi-Fi to work with a little, $7 power adapter. The customer service was awesome, even though I figured my issues out by myself. Just great to know someone's on the other end of the email. The sound is better than I've gotten through Bluetooth speakers. Very happy to have my old beast working via Airplay.

The product works as advertised but the manufacturing quality is bad
I got the product and it is relatively easy to setup although the instructions are unclear. If you are just planning to use it in the car or you do not care about losing WiFi connectivity while using it, simply connect your phone to the device via WiFi and you can start streaming music (Airplay on iPhone for example). The unit stopped working after 5 days and I returned it. For some reason amazon customer service team decided my review was not allowed, so I am trying again and in case this is censored again, I am posting the same review at the car community where I learned bout this product. As I said it is a great idea and actually worked very well... but for only a week

Does not work. Don't buy it.
Don't buy it. It does not work. Mine stopped working a couple of days after I started to use it, and even when it worked, it would disappear from my network and I could not connect to it. Don't waste your money. Their technical support is also non-existant.

needs a power source to work
i recently switched from an iphone to a moto x, so i bought this to use in my mini, which already has a factory-installed 30-pin connector. i already knew this particular 30-pin did not charge my iphone but allowed music to be played thru the stereo with the steering wheel controls working.i didnt want to sacrifice sound quality by using bluetooth (my mini has the digital audio package - a step above the h/k hifi system) so i thought this could work. it looks dope and is super tiny.but when i plugged this in, it would not work because my 30-pin did not supply power. so only get this if your 30-pin charges your phone.

Simply fantastic - has breathed life back into my older 30 pin docks.
I was a bit unsure about this item, since I already have a Bluetooth adapter for use with my Bose Sounddock and whilst that is perfectly functional it is a faff to set up. The whole appeal of this adapter for me is that there is no messing about with pairing and it simply pops up as an additional Airplay device, which incidentally you can give a custom name. In use it’s fuss free and works EVERY single time, unlike the Bluetooth adapter and means that my expensive dock that was gathering dust is now back in use. The sound quality is not just noticeably better than Bluetooth, it’s a night and day improvement! It’s as good as a wired connection via a genuine lightning adapter so as far as I’m concerned lives up to the lossless claim by the manufacturer. Since Apple are charging £35 for the lightning adapter cable, this adapter was a relatively small premium to pay to not have my phone tied to the dock and dangling precariously putting what feels like damaging strain on the connector. The convenience alone of being able to wander around with my phone in my pocket and not have to return to the dock to check for messages is well worth the premium! As a non-techy type the set up is very straightforward. I downloaded the Dolry Music App from the App Store and followed the instructions, which are essentially to plug in the adapter into your dock which then shows as a Dolry wifi network, then using your phone/ipad select the Dolry network and enter your wifi password. Took less than 2 minutes from opening the box and it worked first time. As you’d expect it retains the setting when the power is turned off and means I can move it around the docks I have in the house and usefully can take them outside.Any negatives? The internet radio through the App is in Chinese only, but then again I didn’t buy it for this – I just continue to use tuneinradio for this. Secondly, the remote for my Bose dock will not control the attached device over Airplay, but since I normally skip tracks and adjust the volume from my phone this is, for me, entirely inconsequential. This was a total find on the back of a whim search on google before I resigned myself to selling my 30pin docks on eBay. Best £45 I’ve spent in ages.
