I like this pan. The heavy duty plastic is of good quality and it is durable. The lip of the pan is so close to the that one sweep does it. I also use it to pick up leaves for the trash bin. the width and sturdiness of the plastic is like a small handheld shovel. When I am sweeping the dust does not fall out when discarding. I am happy with this purchase.

Dustpans, I use everywhere. In the home, on the porch and patio and garage. For my outdoor use, I wanted a plastic/rubber pan. For heavier work, a metal galvanized pan is needed. I also try to purchase USA made products. This Genuine Joe dustpan is designed and made well. It is USA manufactured. Although it is constructed of a type of plastic, it is heavy-duty and It gets the job done. The Genuine Joe has a broad (12-inch wide) beveled lip and a deeper larger capacity pocket for holding swept up debris than my favorite 40-45 year old Rubbermaid (10-inch wide). The plastic lip on the front edge, with a little downward pressure, seals to the floor and makes it easier to sweep up finer debris than a metal edge. The handle at its connection to the pan has some structural reinforcement to make the pan longer lasting. In one corner are ridges that can be used to clean the dust from the broom's bristles. It is a nice added fixture. The handle width is larger than the Rubbermaid, probably to assist carrying a heavier load. Men may like this feature. Will it be more durable than my older Rubbermaid one? Probably not. But i still bought several Genuine Joes to last me into my future. Pricewise, the price varies dramatically from $3.50 to $7.00 on Amazon. The Orange DIY box store seems to have the same price range but offers free shipping with its purchase. It is fall season now and I am doing leaves. I was looking for a pair of "leaf mitts" to help pick up piles of leaves. I have been bitten by ground-nesting bees and developed poison Ivy rash from my encounters with tiny young plants in flower beds. "Leaf mitts" are expensive and have limited use and poorly rated on most reviews. I tried a pair of dust pans, one in each hand and they worked very well for picking up piles of leaves. I can use dustpans all year long. Hmmm, this is a no-brainer. If you are looking for a 12-inch heavy-duty galvanized pan, they seem to be overpriced in many stores. Price is usually $12 to $17. range. However, a heavy-duty, well-designed dustpan in manufactured in the USA by Fulton Corporation. It is sold and SHIPPED by the everything big local superstore. It was NOT available for pick-up at my store. Price is $6. (This is not from 3rd-party sellers) Shipping was free with a $35 order. This is a heavy duty dust pan that can fit quite a bit of stuff in it. The dust pan has a softer rubber lip which helps create a tight seal against the floor, which allows for maximum dirt and debris pickup and prevents fine dust from being swept underneath the pan. Great product. Pretty basic but its a dust pan. Lol. Its exactly what i needed for the price i felt it should cost. Did a fairly thorough search, and this 1 was close to 1/2 the price of ne other i found. Good solid plastic, wont break if u drop it/would have to step on it with some real weight to do so, has a nice fine lip/edge that makes it easier to sweep debris over and into the pan. Was debating a 5 star but...always room for improvement. Good product though. Shldnt b disapointed at that price. 👍👍

A few weeks ago I destroyed my old plastic dust pan in a fit of rage (it involved spilled cat litter, don't judge). I bought a Rubbermaid pan from Home Depot for $9.97, which was fine. But that was one when I really needed one on each floor, plus one in the garage, and a floater in the laundry room. Black Friday deal on Amazon had the Genuine Joe GJO02406 Heavy-Duty Plastic Dust Pan for $3.59. So I ordered three of them. They are every bit as thick and sturdy as the Rubbermaid model I just got. It was a ridiculously good deal, and I'm glad I pounced on it. Get it...pounced?
