Small fits great. Female size 6.5 shoes and petite.
I wear women’s size 6.5 shoe and am petite. The size small fits well. I bought it for 39.99+ tax. The urgent care center was selling the same exact one for $200. The PT advised me to buy it retail or online because insurance reimbursement was very iffy. I have a sprained ankle. I wrap my foot with the ace bandage from urgent care then put this air brace on. Seems to give more stability and ease the pain. I probably won’t wear it if I have to wear my tennis shoes. The plastic is too stiff and thick

Recommended by podiatrist
I torn my ATFL and the orthopedic podiatrist told me to specifically buy this product and wear it for 2 months ... combined with physical therapy. I had a different ankle brance and - oh my - I recognize the difference and the stability. I already feel the relief on my ankle. You MUST wear it with socks.

Works great...but there are questions.
Bought for my daughter. She felt immediate relief from her sprain. What is the hose for? I assume to inflate or deflate the air cells? No instructions on why the hose is included. Why is there gel in the air cells?

Adjustment and fit are KEY!
It took me 2 days wearing it to get it adjusted just right. I couldn't find a thing about FIT ADJUSTMENT on the product website or even on Youtube, only instructions on how to put it on. Also, there was no clue as to how to determine what size to order. Sizes are the number of inches the brace extends up your calf. Just going by the pictures, I aimed for the top of my crew sock, which turned out to be a size Small, even though I have a wide shoe size and a large calf. As to adjustment, I found the trick is getting the bottom width adjustment wide enough that you don't actually feel the cast when you walk. At first there was a slight pressure on the inside of my heel that became very uncomfortable after awhile. A few test adjustments and voila'- comfort and a very effective product.

returned
Arrived dirty and apparently had been used. There was hair and dirt in the velcro. Had to return

Good support for a sprain - with caveats
Good support for a sprain but not particularly comfortable to wear. They would do better in a sports shoe than in a dressy shoe. Unlike in the illustration, wearers are advised to wear absorbent socks under the brace. The air sacs are plastic so skin immediately against them can't breathe. Amount of air in sac is adjustable (read directions, and don't lose the inflation/deflation tube that's included but not attached) but it may take experimentation (and time!) to find the right adjustment to fit comfortably. Shouldn't be worn in airplanes due to air pressure change affecting the sac size, but it would be awkward to have to put on and off to hurry through an airport ... and what to do with it if you aren't wearing it onboard?! They're designed and marked for left or right but seem to be interchangeable if you adjust the stirrup appropriately and adjust air pressure in the sacs accordingly.

Recovering from Weber C ankle fracture
At first I wasn't impressed by the brace... But I kept playing with it to adjust the fit. Once I figured that out, I fell in love! It is better than any other splint/brace I tried. I actually have seen a HUGE difference when I wear it and when I don't. Walk great with it. Without it I get shooting pain with every step. It took a while to "figure out" the best way to wear it so don't give up. It's worth it!Cons- hard to fit at first. Doesn't fit in shoes as easily as advertised.Pros- WALK WITHOUT PAIN!!! Hard outside shell protects from my dog banging into me

Comfy, quick to put on and very supportive. Most practical cast-free support I've tried.
I have broken my fibula at my right (dominant) foot a couple days ago and the doc says I have much soft tissue damage as well. Thanks to Dan's review I ordered it yesterday with prime overnight shipping. This evening it came in around 5PM and I can walk again without hardly any pain! I was provided an aircast boot which is pretty good but goes up to my knew and is large and bulky. No way that would allow my pants to go over it I also received a bledsoe wraptor speed XXL which is awesome but this large sized aircast air stirrup is way easier to put on and it is the most comfy and fully supportive of my injury. I will be able to drive my manual trans vehicle now and get back to work and it will fit under the cuff of my dress slacks. Thank you Aircast and Amazonm, the air cast air stirrup really made my day. :)
