eXtremeRateMatcha Green Custom Faceplate Shell Compatible with ps4 Slim Pro Controller CUH-ZCT2 JDM-040/050/055 - Controller NOT Included

The eXtremeRate Faceplate Cover is decent in terms of finish, but the improper fit of the Start Button and Left Thumbstick ruin it. There isn't a way to resolve the fit without sanding, so you'll need to put in a lot of work and have the right tools. These defects affect gameplay and can't be overlooked.The first thing you'll notice is that these covers are a much softer plastic. I'm not referring to the 'soft-touch' rubber coating on the outside, but rather the shell itself is a very soft and springy plastic. This is actually pretty cool because it allows you to remove the cover without breaking the tabs if you ever need to make changes. The softer plastic also allows for a very flush finish on the edge of the controller. Since it is so soft you may have issues clipping the controller together. Mine had a tendency to pop apart and I would have to hold the pieces together with one hand while putting in a screw with the other.The second thing you'll notice is that the cover itself doesn't have threads in the screw holes. That means you'll need to create the threads when you put in the screws for the first time. You need to do this with a steady hand and with steady pressure. While this isn't necessarily an issue, it does mean that you can overtighten the screws without really knowing it. The shell itself will simply bend and give, and an overtightened faceplate prevents the rubber contact pads within from working properly.None of these previous things are really an issue. It isn't until you put the controller together and attempt to use it that you realize that there is a molding issue. Using both a JDM-40 and JDM-50 I ran into similar problems with the left Thumbstick. The thumbsticks for both sets of internals would get stuck in the down and down-right position. It felt like a subtle grind and stick. For the JDM-40, my start button would get stuck on the return. I would press it down fine, but it would stick coming back up. The JDM-50 had less of an issue because the Start Button is built into the circuit board and there isn't a loose button. Regardless, the thumbstick sticking was a deal breaker. Unless the faceplate was loose enough to pop open the scraping would occur.So, what about sanding it down and fixing it? Well I didn't attempt this. The reason being that the faceplate isn't a solid piece of rubbery plastic, it's soft plastic with a smooth coating of rubbery material on the front and in the button holes. Sanding the inner edge could fix it, but catching the rubber coating might introduce an airgap and eventually ruin the finish entirely. I didn't want to take the risk and instead decided this product was just not right for me.

Love this cover. So soft and the color is just like the picture. The installation gave my a bit of difficulty when it came to taking off the old faceplate but after that it was pretty easy. Came with a small screwdriver and extra screws. The small guitar pick wasnt too helpful and i ended up using a small flathead instead. All in all good purchase. Ill be buying another color when i get my other controller

Comes with all the tools needed to replace the front face cover. You might feel like you’re braking your controller upon first taking out the screws, but as long as you don’t bludgeon it with a hammer, it should be fine. Was fully expecting it come in a completely different color than the picture, but was pleasantly surprised. WARNING: CONTRARY TO WHAT MY W BROTHER TOLD ME, IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU BETTER AT VIDEO GAMES

Update: After playing with the controller for a day, my hands got used to the texture. Does not feel slippery as it did the very first time.Love the color! Installation had me sweating, but not too bad as I’ve replaced an LG tablet screen twice. Overall it’s great. Only thing I dislike is the feel. I guess I should’ve read clearly that it is SOFT. I also replaced the backplate with a matching textured one. The controller feels “slippery” to me. Maybe it’s just me. I will however be buying more colors for my secondary controller and possibly changing out the buttons.

Color is amazing just wish the soft touch material was even softer. I like how it grips to be honest. When assembling you have to make sure to press the shell firmly down, hold and screw tightly to avoid as much as possible any fitment issues.

Solid shell. Fits 2nd Gen JDM-040 nicely. Install is straightforward. Watch a how-to video if it’s your first time opening a controller. They grey looks fire. The soft touch is literally soft. So yeah I’m really happy with this product.

The only shell I could find in my favorite color (Mint Green), the price is a little steep but it was worth it, the only hard part of installing it was initially taking the controller apartThe rubber pad for the PS button didn’t really fit in its spot too well, but if you place it right, once you close the controller up, it works all the same.

I love the color & texture but it doesn't fit my ps4 controller, too bad cuz I love the color, can't use it

Hallo,ich habe mir bei Amazon diese Ps4 Controller Oberschale mit soft touch (plus Alu Knöpfe) gegönnt.Es wird explizit darauf hingewiesen, dass diese Hülle auf den Controller mit der Platinennummer JDM 040 passt.Solltet ihr einen Controller mit der Nummer JDM 055 haben, den ich auch habe, passt diese Oberschale nicht.Die Nummer findet Ihr nach abbau der Unterschale und des batteriekastens auf der linken Seite der Platine.Siehe großer hellblauer Pfeil.Auf der rechten Seite der Platine ist die Nummer TH 201 aufgedruckt, kleiner hellblauer Pfeil.Sobald die Platine mit angeschlossenen Teilen, ist eine Einheit, raus genommen wurde, kann man die Oberschale mit den vorhandenen Teilen der alten Oberschale bestücken.Achtung, eines muss aber noch gemacht werden, da die neue Oberschale in einem Punkt anders ist.Dort wo sich die PS-Taste befindet ist ein Silikonteil, dass mit zwei Nasen gehalten wird.Siehe rote Pfeile.Diese nasen gibt es leider nicht bei der neuen Oberschale, sondern es wurden andere Kunststoffteile angebaut bzw. verbaut.Siehe gelbe Pfeile.Diese muss man entfernen, da ansonsten der Silikonpad nicht passt.Sobald man das gemacht hat, liegt der Silikonpad locker drauf.Siehe grüne Pfeile.(Durch einbau der Platineneinheit wird das Silkonpad festgeklemmt und verrutscht nicht mehr.)Jetzt in umgekehrter Reihenfolge alles wieder zusammen bauen.Dadurch, dass es sich um ein neues Oberteil handelt, sind natürlich auch keine Gewinde in den Führungen für die Schrauben geschnitten.Daher muss man etwas fester den Schraubendreher betätigen um die Schrauben fest zu ziehen.Der Controller liegt angenehm in der Hand und für mich hat sich die Anschaffung gelohnt.Für mich verdiente 5 Sterne.P.S.: ich habe die Anleitung nicht gebraucht, da ich weiß wie man einen Controller auseinander nimmt.Und so wie beschrieben habe ich es nicht gemacht mit entfernen der R1 und L1 tasten, daher kann ich darüber keinen Kommentar abgeben.

Nachdem ich nun intensiv die Bewertungen zu diesem Produkt gelesen habe, habe ich mich dennoch entschlossen dieses Abdeckung zu bestellen.Liest man vor allem die negative Bewertungen, so sind dennoch alle Informationen die Bemängelt worden in der Produktbeschreibung vorhanden, sofern man weiter unten auf der Produktseite finden kann.Wichtig und zu beachten:- Passt für PS4 Slim Controller perfekt- wie immer bei allen Bastelarbeiten, Geduld und vor allem Gefühl, dann bleibt alles ganz und der Zusammenbau gestaltet sich ziemlich einfach. 4 Schrauben aussen und eine Schraube innen. Werkzeug wird mitgeliefert und ist für etwas große Handwerkerhände ziemlich "fusselig" :)- beim Transfer der Teile einfach beides nebeneinander legen und übertragenWenn man sich an das alles hält, klappt der Umbau ohne Probleme.Die Qualität der Schale ist für mich in Ordnung, es gab keine abgeknickten Nasen oder andere Probleme mit der Passform. Vom Material würde ich sagen etwas spröder als die originalen Teile. Wenn man vorsichtig schraubt, passiert nichts.Die Schale ist von aussen Lackiert und innen entsprechend weiss, von aussen aber nichts sichtbar, das es lackiert wurde.Die Farbe hier im Bild zu sehen ist ein sattes dunkles Grün, das sehr gut aussieht.

I was abit skeptical of buying this as I didn't wanna buy a new controller just for a unique color variant, but instead I decided to purchase this skin, and tbh it turned out pretty darn nice! Simple easy install and it only took me 5 mins! And the color looks amazing!!! I would definitely buy another one! The texture of it is very soft!

Easy installation, doesn’t include instructions but anyone with access to YouTube can do this. Home button cradle fits kinda weird but with some modifications worked out just fine. If you’re not willing to improvise then you shouldn’t be modifying your electronics!
