Ok book
This is not a formal calculus book. The subjects are dragged unnecessarily. Cannot be used as single source for the class. Every few pages says are you confused? Waste of space. The whole 800 pages could have been summarized in about 80 pages. The fonts are very small. You need a magnifier. I tolerated till I got to page 130. On 7th line I could not make Va. I showed it to my children they could not read it either. I ended up using a X 30 magnifier to read it. It’s absurd to make the fonts this small.

It was like having a teacher explaining the concepts to me
Not only was I able to teach myself the computational side of calculus with this book, but I also developed an intuitive understanding of the concepts. I went through this book over the course of around a months; doing a chapter or so a day. The explanations were clear and digestible. I was able to visualize everything with little effort. It was like having a teacher explaining the concepts to me. Thanks to this book I was able to self study AP Calculus and AP Physics C (Calculus based Physics) in little time. It opened the door to higher mathematics, and I went on to self study differential equations, linear algebra, and other advanced topics. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to painlessly learn calculus.

Easy to read
I am getting ready for my masters in engineering after a 10 year break. I just wanted something easy to read that covered what I needed for a review of calculus. This is good, it just explains things in plain, easy to understand language. I'll be able to knock the dust off quickly and get into my classwork. No rigorous mathematical confusion.

A refreshing and welcome approach
Gibilisco is a good and effective communicator and I thought this book was refreshing. It doesn't pretend that someone will learn this material without effort (they won't, as any teacher will tell you). He covers everything and understands and explains what students don't understand. Also, the truth is that repetition is important and effective and Gibilisco uses repetition to drive home important points. I would recommend this book to my AP class. It is a more student focused and pleasant read than a traditional calculus textbook. There are a few typos in the book, but errata are posted on the net for readers who find them distracting. I especially recommend this book to adults who "knew calculus once", this is a good read.

Got this for my son and he loved it
He asked for it as a result of having taken up an original interest in quantum effects (I guess itself originating from atomic fussion, itself from atomic bombs, which came from a boy's inevitable interest in things that go "bang"). He is now 15 and knows calculus quite well. Has done so for a while. Makes life at school a lot easier, albeit some teachers can sometimes resist students knowing more than they do...
