This book is very large and very comprehensive. I’m not a huge fan of retrospectives and prefer when art books focus on a specific period of the artists career, but this looks at everything. The interview in the beginning is very nice and the paper and binding are all high quality. It easily passes as a $100 book when it’s sitting on the coffee table. I don’t think the images are as graphic as some of the other reviewers clam them to be. Tokyo Lucky Hole has more graphic images than this book. I prefer Tokyo Lucky Hole because it’s not a retrospective but a very purposely put together collection. I think this is a great introductory book for someone interested in Araki.

'Araki' is a good, paperback primer illustrating an overview of the photographer's work. The reproductions are in both black & white and color. Quality is ok. Just a few of his well known 'fetish' photos but if you don't know the work it's a good introduction.

In typical Taschen fashion, this second printing is much lower quality. My roommate has the smaller 2007 version, and the color balance and contrast is MUCH better in that one. This newer edition is very, very off in the color images. Taschen has serious quality control issues, as this is not the first time I've seen them do this (I have some of their Helmut newton books with unforgivable color errors). I wish Steidl or someone would print a comprehensive Araki book like this.

El libro es grandísimo, tiene muchísimas fotografías con una impresión de gran calidad. Si te gusta este artista es un libro imprescindible.

A very talented photographer and a wonderful book. diverse subject matter, some very challenging and thought provoking photographs. Araki is a true master of his craft and there are some superb photographs in this quality book. If you are serious about your photography there is a lot to learn here.

So genial, dass sogar Fotografen wie Mariano Vivanco (Portraits Nudes Flowers) das Buch in Stil des Umschlages und Konzeptes kopieren.

Premetto che questo libro non è per tutti e sopratutto è rivolto ad un pubblico che ha delle basi su cosa sia realmente la fotografia. Il libro si presenta veramente bene ed è veramente grande (credo che 4kg ci siano con 565 pagine rilegate) una bella tela rossa e una buona stampa opaca come copertina. Il prezzo è molto onesto sia per la qualità di stampa e la quantità. Bel lavoro TASHEN. Araki è senz'ombra di dubbio un artista che raccoglie nei suoi scatti le varie perversioni proprie e dei Giapponesi;schiaffandoti un mondo a te estraneo.I lavori che ho gradito maggiormente son stati quelli di "sensual flower" e "tokyo nude". FINALMENTE Primo libro che ordino su amazon che mi è arrivato decente senza ammaccature o altro (dall'aspetto esterno del pacco non me lo aspettavo dato che era veramente scassato)

O livro serve como uma introdução à obra do fotógrafo japonês e, por ser de bolso, pode ser levado para qualquer lugar, ao contrário de outros livros do Araki, como é o caso de Bondage, que pesa mais de 5 quilos e é caríssimo.
