This replaces a 10 year old UV flashlight that had finally stopped working. The old flashlight only had 12 LED's so this flashlight with its 51 LED's is a considerable upgrade with the much wider area that it brightly covers. We have multiple senior pets, so this flashlight is used daily to detect unfortunate surprises. Received it about a month ago and have had no problems with battery life.

This light works fantastic on carpets. I have a portable carpet cleaner so at night I flash the light and the urine is easy to find and cleans up beautifully with the Shark portable carpet cleaner. I should have bought this light years ago. I didn’t realize how many urine spots there were because you can’t see them but you can certainly smell it. I have wood floors also but it’s hard to detect urine with the light because the floors are antique and there are imperfections in the wood that light up differently.

Better than others that I've tried. The spray spots fluoresce very well on white painted baseboards, however, piddle spots on my wood floors or beige painted walls do not fluoresce. I suppose that's a limitation of the light rather than the flashlight itself. Seeing the marks fluoresce on the white painted baseboards is usually enough to get me in the right place. It has definitely been a big help.

We purchased this as We rescued a bulldog recently who is 3 years old and never been potty trained! I noticed that she was having accidents around the house but I didn't know to what degree she was having them. I saw an ad on social media about how to find old urine stains using this flashlight and thought I would try it out. I couldn't believe all the old urine stains that I found and was able to treat and remove quickly. This is a great little tool if you're looking to find old urine stains of animal or human stains.

TLDR: If you want everything to look purple, this is a great light! If you don't want visible light spectrum, pass on this.This flashlight works well if you're ok with some visible light spectrum. The waves are long enough that it still shows purple. As a rockhound looking for a uv light, I was disappointed. I should have done more research to know I needed a 365 nm light instead of this 395 nm light. The first photo includes, left to right, Mangano calcite, Baltic amber, and 2 pieces of fluorite in daylight. The second photo is under this light. The third photo is under a 365 nm light. The far right fluorite didn't fluoresce under this light. The second stone is ruby zoisite. It turned purple under this light, which threw me. Everything looked purple! The last photo is under a 365 nm light, and the ruby pops!

We have two older dogs who are starting to have issues with having accidents in the house. We bought this so we could search for areas that need cleaning, and it has worked so well. We also use it in the bathroom while cleaning to make sure we're not missing any problem areas. This has made it so easy to check for messes that might otherwise go unnoticed.

For the price this is a solid UV flashlight. Works great in the dark but if in ambient light the effectiveness is diminished. Super simple easy to use. Perfect for finding scorpions or pet accidents. Solid aluminum construction should survive a drop.
