Highly recommended - Great Quality & Excellent Customer Service!
I was so excited to transition over to using biodegradable/ compostable mailers for my small business. I chose these mailers for the additional explanation on the packaging and the tree planted for each bag. The company has great & friendly customer service that got back to me quickly when I asked about how long the mailers would take to break down in a landfill (1.5-2 years).I previously wrote a review here saying that these mailers had a bad smell. Well, I am back to say that they no longer do! Eco Packables saw my review, took it seriously, and made some changes! I cannot believe the impeccable customer service that the company has - Shervin, the CEO, reached out to me directly to apologize for my original disappointment. They explained that while a sweet smell comes from using cornstartch in any biodegradable packaging products, they actually updated their products to remove the smell and offered to send me the new product! The new mailers are great quality, and as promised - have no scent to them.I 110% recommend you buy all your mailers from Eco-Packables and support this company. It's not only a great way to incorporate sustainability into your business, but you will be working with a company that has top-notch customer service - something that seems rarer and rarer these days.

Flimsy but Okay
I love the idea behind these mailers. However, I find it very easy to tear the material they’re made of. It’s flimsy, and probably looks a little beaten when it arrives. Nothing lost yet though (fingers crossed!).Also, I’ve found that there’s no good compostable shipping tape, and I don’t own a label printer (which would help a bit). That means that my mailers sent probably shouldn’t be composted after I’ve put tape on them. That’s a bit counterproductive, and poor marketing to my customers who might throw this in their compost pile. On the other hand, I guess they’ll still dissolve faster if they go to the landfill.Another point, the 2nd seal will never get used - these mailers probably have a rough ride with 1 mailing. I can’t imagine the mailer would survive a second. Not to mention that there’s no perforation in the material, nor instructions on the mailer telling the recipient that there’s a second seal. Unless you are shipping to yourself, and assuming the mailer can survive 2 trips, the second seal is useless.Last, tape seams to stick okay to this mailer, but not really well. It’s not that it feels particularly chalky, but it doesn’t feel like the most secure adhesion. I have to really withhold from soaking each package in tape in hopes that the tape sticks to the other tape, ha! And then my brain cycles back to the compostability topic....Good intentions overall, but I’m now quite aware that a lot of the features are oversold on this mailer, and they’re mainly there to get you to buy this product rather than to supply a solid mailer.

Great durable, light weight compostable mailer
Yes, this mailer does have a smell to it, just like any compostable bag you may come across. This mailer has the same texture and smell as the compostable produce bags my local grocery store provides. These mailers are durable and handles shipping well. I do send items made of fabric in them and was concerned at first that the smell would transfer, but it didn't. I wrapped a 100% cotton item in a single layer of tissue and placed it in the mailer and sealed it for 6 day, which I assume would be about the amount of time my items would be in transit and inside the mailer. On day 6, I opened the package, unwrapped the tissue and took a whiff, no compostable bag smell had transferred onto the item.

Perfect for my business!
I use these mailers almost everyday to send out products for my business. I’ve tried several other compostable mailers from different companies and for some reason their labels wouldn’t stick. These are the first I’ve found that allow me to put my shipping labels on them, and they don’t fall off. Apart from that, I love the design, feel, and durability. They also smell like caramel, which is from the corn starch. Having the double seal means my customers can return their products in the same mailer I sent them! Overall, these mailers are amazing and I love what the company stands for.

Seam on side is not secure, all items were lost
Interesting that Amazon rejected my first review. I guess that is how this received a higher review than it should.I wanted to use these as a sustainable option to Tyvek. We are provide a farm product and I wanted something more more in line with our sustainable lifestyle. The seam tore open and all the items in it were lost. I had to reimburse customer.I tested the bags I have here and found that with little effort the seam tears open. The items I used the bag for was soft 1 ounce of wool, so nothing sharp that would rip it.I can not recommend these, but wish I could.

Resellers review
I’ve seen several people complain about a “smell” but if anyone has had biodegradable mailers before they will know this is totally normal. They hold up really good, although I wouldn’t be shoving stuff, they aren’t meant to stretch super far before they will tear.I’ve had multiple compliments about using this eco-friendly packaging as well. ♻️
