How do you clean these ear guards? Can you put them in a washer?

Washed them with antibacterial soap and water, hung to dry. Never tried putting them in a washing machine.

Is this for youth/young kids or adults? My son is 8

for the kid. I got this for my boys when he was 12 years old.
