Opens letters. No paper cuts.
Love this little ceramic blade letter opener and the embedded magnet. Works on a wide range of paper and even some plastic envelopes. My old one had dulled and started to catch and tear. Like many, they don't work so well on the rare envelopes that are too flimsy, slightly moist, wrinkled, or made of cardboard. This one works fine, though you may need a few tries to understand it and make it work every time. It it's slicing the letter inside, then tap the envelope down so the letter isn't up against the edge your slicing.

Awkward to use and poorly made.
Awkward to handle product lasted less than two months while handling a small quantity of mail. While very small and difficult to grasp, it opened the first envelope well enough and then steadily declined in effectiveness after that. After it broke, I switched to a serrated butter knife and am far happier than I ever was with this product. As inexpensive as it was, it wasn't worth it.

It’s cheap and it works 🤷🏻♂️
Update 11/16/2020:Just opened 60 envelopes by hand, despite not being as good as the Japanese imported ones on Amazon. It sure as heck beats the pants off any generic letter opener a typical office provides you with.Since the blade moves depending on the direction you slice it seems to jam. Takes a few tries to find the finesse of it. It works but the Japanese import ones are much better and consistent.

Magnet is a huge +
I've used this type of letter opener in the past. Working in Accts Rec, this is a great opener for pulling out all the payments quickly. At home, I've lost the 2 previous openers through stupid misplacement. So far, the magnet in this opener keeps this opener where it's supposed to be: in its wire basket next to the door. This design makes it easy to open an envelope from any side. So, if the "top" is all wrinkly from a post office machine sorter fight, I open the bottom. If some one has applied a judicial amount of tape to secure their letter beyond the lick and stick adhesive, sealing off the tiny amount of space needed to slip a standard letter opener though, you don't need that space with this opener. Hopefully I won't lose it.

It's hard to do without once you get used to it.
My first one wore out after 20 months from heavy use. I think it could be a little less expensive. I will probably continue to buy them. I have ordered 4 of these and my only complaint is that the top can come apart if dropped and the blade sometimes gets pushed out of alignment if opening something too thick. It can be readjusted. I think a better glue could be used to hold the top piece in place.

Low risk, nice payoff
I was surprised to see the poor reviews of this unique opener. Maybe they've improved the manufacturing process because mine works better than any letter opener I've owned. I've used mine on hundreds of letters so far. I purchased it because of its unique design and I was intrigued with by their claim of a ceramic blade that "never dulls." After using it, I have to say that's true. The device compact and is much easier to use than a standard blade-letter opener because you don't have to poke and prod to get a plastic tip under the envelope fold, you just slice along the top edge and those wonderful bills (or checks, in your case!) are ready for you to pull out! The magnetization is also convenient. I'd buy another in a heartbeat.

Zip, Open
Works as it should. Clean cuts. Cut edge stays attached, so there is less mess.

Save your money
Amazon verified review.I was looking for a magnetic letter opener to keep handy on my refrigerator door. I have had several kinds that have worked well. Unfortunately, this isn't one of them. Along with being difficult to use, it will slice your letter along with the envelope. The Baumgarten type with a piece of magnetic tape attached is a better bet.

Muy bueno
No sé por qué yo esperaba un producto más voluminoso, pero no necesita serlo para ser eficiente como es. Muy bueno.
