I purchased the vantop h612 dash cam in january 2021 & it just stopped working. what can i do to fix that?

Consider yourself taken by vantop. They will not assist you and only reward good YouTube reviews . Faulty product

Does it use a lithium battery?

its has built in battery that records 20s in parking mode

Do I need to leave this camera on to continue to record when not in the vehicula and vehicular not running? It doesn’t seem to automatically start

With the VanTop H610, it comes with the power adapter and wire 'harness'. ALL you need to do is PLUG IN the charger/power adapter into a lighter outlet that stays ON/live ALL THE TIME when the vehicle is running, on, on ACC or off, not running. When you turn off your car, it automatically goes into 'Parking' mode. (However, you can also adjust the sensitivity of the Parking mode to Low, Middle, High - indicative to the amount of movement the mirror will sense in the car before the AUTOMATIC VIDEO starts to record). However, if you unplug the power adapter from the lighter outlet, the Mirror-Cam WILL say, "Goodbye" and will turn off. So, DON'T unplug it, if you want Parking Mode to automatically turn on.
