Great all around pen - My favorite
I have used these pens for a long time and regularly give them as a gift for students that I mentor as they enter Architecture school. I prefer the V5 over the V7 as it gives you a narrower line. The pens have a good flow, and never leave any ink spots. Moderate amounts of control on line thickness by varying the pressure. Just a good quality, versatile pen. I purchased this specific product because the 2 pack was significantly cheaper per pen than the other packaging. Not sure if this is still the case.

Best Pens Ever!
I praise these pens cause I use to use them since high school! I tried several different pens but to me Pilot is the King of Pens!

Wonderful to write with
Love writing with these pens. The ink flows so well and I feel 10 times more classy while writing with one! Bought these to hand-address all of the invitations and thank yous for my wedding and the pens held up great. I had been using a very old pen of the same type/brand and it leaked pretty bad near the tip, which prompted me to buy a fresh set. So far these new pens have not had any problems, but of course time will tell. I thought the price, combined with Amazon Prime, was a great deal.

Good, but not great like the V5 retractable
I purchased these pens as an alternate to the Pilot Precise V5 RT Retractable Rolling Ball Pens, Extra Fine Point, Black Ink, Dozen Box (26062) , which are excellent. I had hoped these would perform just was well, but was disappointed. They simply don't write as smoothly as the V5 retractables. Pros Fine point Continuous ink flow that doesn't skip Cons Ink smudges on glossy paper (true of all V5s) There is a feeling of excess friction, as if the pen is catching while you write The tips are easily bent

Really Good
I hardly write these days since I work a lot on my computer. As a result my handwriting has suffered. But these pens make writing on paper smooth and effortless and they even improve my handwriting. I'll definitely buy again but might not be a good choice for air travel.

Absolute Favorite Pens for my Illustration Work!!!
These Pens are fantastic for getting fine lines and easy clean up on Illustration work. I have used expensive art store pens and these trump those. I will mention that if your rough on them they will leak and break on you and that can be messy. Other than that they are a must have. I buy them in bulk in december for the new year and usually always have them on hand. I can get fine lines without bleed and bobbing. I love these pens usually the black is what i use! :)

and you like the width of the line
I think this size doesn't work as well as the v7 or the larger ones... these you have to hold JUST so, else they don't write correctly. If you can get used to that, and you like the width of the line, then these could be for you. Otherwise, go for the v7.

I'm in love
Bought these for hubby cuz he needed a black ink, fine point pen for work. Being the pen snob and collector that I am, I tried one out. The rest is history. I stole the pens for my own use and had to by my hubby more. Then my daughter tried them for her pen and ink drawings and had to have her own stash. Smooth flow over paper, no scratching. No inconsistent dispersal of ink on paper. Very satisfying in a tactile sense. Would recommend for any use.

Simply the Best
I've been using Pilot V5 Techpoint pens for years and absolutely love them. The roller ball design allows these pens to write smoothly with very little pressure or hand fatigue making them ideal when writing for long periods of time. Being left handed I was concerned that the ink from the V5 pen would bleed into the paper, smudge or smear, but I was surprised at how little ink bleed there is from these pens and also how resilient they are to smearing. Sometimes this V5 pen will smear every so slightly but 99% of the time I can write left handed without any smearing. Note: I have also used the V7 version of this pen which does have more ink bleed and does smear noticeably more. The V5 pen writes great on thermal paper making it a favorite for cashiers, waiters and waitress just be careful not to leave it alone with your customers or you might not get it back. The hard steel needle tip on the V5 pen is also great for making carbon copies and works great for things like bank deposit slips. Unlike regular ball point pens or gel roller pens the needle tip on the Pilot V5 can bend, crack or break which can cause ink to leak out. The V5 pens can also be sensitive to changes in air pressure, so you should carry them with caution when flying as the changes in pressure can cause the ink to leak. In five years of use, I've had two pens leak, which can be messy. I was concerned that cold weather may cause the ink to freeze and affect the performance of this pen but so far I've used this pen in freezing weather and it still wrote as good or better than ball point or gel pen. One other feature I like is the convenient built in ink window which lets you see how much ink is still remaining in the pen Overall for me, The Pilot V5 Techpoint is the perfect pen for me, my wife seems to like it too, since she's always borrowing it from my desk.

Fantastic pens
They’re a little pricey but worth it. These pens write so smoothly and last forever; I love them so much that they’re the only pens I purchase

Buttery smooth rollerball & precise lines at a sweetspot.
The pen is suited to a higher grade paper, based on how the (great) rolling action of the ball is hurt by cheap notebook paper. Students, don't use this with your Hilroy 80-page notebooks! It'll start drying up the roller real fast, leading to skipping. Look for notebooks with the kind of paper that feels super smooth and slick to the touch. To write with a 0.5mm line on this one you'll need to follow calligraphy rule #1: use a comfy, nearly-90° hold on the pen, and rule #2: let the pen's weight dictate pressure (don't smash it). My one issue is how strongly it bleeds at a more innocent acute angle, leading you to do believe it's supposed to be that thick if you write in such a pose.
