Due to medical issues, I have to take steps to reduce/eliminate mold in my environment. When the humidity has increased in my home, I can tell because my nose will get a burning. We had a solair dehumdifier and it started malfunctioning. I could tell because my nose was having the burning sensation. I began researching dehumidifiers on consumer reports. I also wanted a humidifier that would be 'overdoing' the job to make sure the job would get done! So I started looking at commercial dehumidifiers. I didn't find this exact model on consumer reports so I looked at brands and how they compared to one another. This is how I ended up selecting hOmeLabs brand. The reviews were decent. Then I started looking at other features. This dehumidifer had to go down stairs to the basement. Having the larger wheels in the back and the large handle on top made it much easier to take downstairs. Once we waited for 24 hours per the instructions, we turned it on and let it start doing its work! Within that day, I could tell a huge difference in the air quality and no nose burning! Great product!

We plugged it in, started it up and it went right to work. We ran it continuously for about 10 days until the humidity level was acceptable.We then attempted to set it to run only if the humidity rose up. Homelabs replied quickly to help as the manual was difficult to understand.We did have to purchase additional drain tubing and an appropriate connector elsewhere as the tubing supplied wasn’t long enough for our application.We are, so far, very satisfied with our purchase.

Unit started freezing up after only 11 months, will no longer remove water. It worked great before that.It has a 12 month warranty - Called customer support number, had auto response that they were no longer taking customer warranty phone calls. Only option is to email. Got a response yesterday morning and tried their troubleshooting steps to no success. They will be sending me a replacement unit. I got lucky that this happened just prior to the 12 month warranty expiration.It may be better to go to your local appliance store, purchase a dehumidifier with a long warranty period. Update -- still have not received the replacement unit, original email from them said 'no problem we will send a replacement unit , you don't have to send us back anything'. Next email said 'you have to send us the unit back first'. So, arranged a UPS pickup for today, but looked at the address, it's going to someone's house in Pennsylvania,,? Weird. Also no answer on when I'll get the replacement dehumidifier. I had to figure out how to box the stupid heavy thing up and need help getting it out of the basement. I just brought it back inside until they can answer my questions. I first contacted them on July 12th that it wasn't working any longer. 1 year warranty is up August 13th. They should be sending a replacement right away. Oh, and Amazon customer service is no help.

With it strapped on the dolly, we made it down the basement stairs, with a landing. Easy to take out of the box. All parts accounted for. Directions clear and easy to follow. Quickly put pieces on with an electric screw driver - recommended in the nstructions and you will see why when attaching the castors. Easy to assemble. Awaiting 24hrs to ensure refrigerant fluids are settled then the great start up. - got tired of replacing home units. My basement is not wet but can get over 60% RH without dehumidifiers running. - durable medical device?????????????

The house I bought 2 years ago has a leaky basement and was built in the 1920's. So to help keep the humidity down I bought this monstrosity for it shortly before moving in. It does a great job of dehumidifying the large basement and still runs great after 2 years of hard use.Though outside of the the timer function (you set it when it's on, only telling it how long to run before turning off) it has no means of automation. And since this thing draws around 450 watts, you don't want it continuously running. I wish it had provisions to turn on and off automatically at certain humidity levels.Besides that, this is a great unit for the money.

If you are like me and look through the reviews when choosing which product/company to buy from (especially for large purchases) please take note that this company was excellent to work with!We purchased this unit to lower the humidity in our basement work room. We were very content upon unboxing, the unit was nice looking and the large wheels made it very easy to move around, setting it up was extremely simple, however the unit did not perform as expected, from what we assume is from some sort of defect with the compressor. (Please don't let that discourage you, it can happen with any product). We made a call and were able to speak with a c.s. rep that was extremely friendly and walked us through a few trouble shooting methods, after giving the unit time to perform we noticed it still was not lowering our humidity as we expected.We called back several times and it went a voice service (slightly frustrating but no biggie). I then decided to send a message via the Amazon app and received a reply very quickly. After a few back and forth messaging (all very prompt responses from the company) they not only made it right by issuing my immediate refund but went above and beyond in providing the easiest possible solution for return shipping on my behalf. I would absolutely recommend choosing this company if you are looking for one that does right by their customers (which lets face it, can sometimes be a little hard to come by these days) Very impressed and beyond satisfied.
