This axe/tool combo is great and I would absolutely recommend!! It is also compact, which makes it easy to take with you for camping, fishing, etc.

While this proved to be what I need, I was disappointed in the size. I am not sure what you would use the hatched part for, other than for making shavings for a fire starter.
