Slate has a tinge of blue. Charcoal is a mix of white and black

Q: Do these have any chemical coatings?

YES! They have been washed multiple, multiple times but they still smell like hair hydrogen peroxide to me.

Q: Is the flax color a grey?

No, it's more of a taupe color.

Q: Do these produce a lot of lint after you wash them?

If you're asking do they produce lint after washing, the answer is no. The first couple of times you dry them, they leave a bit of lint in the lint trap as would be expected, but otherwise, there is no excess lint. They don't "shed". Great towels for a great price. If you try them, I hope you enjoy them as much as I have.
