Fantastic.... how has Western Medicine missed this component?
How have we missed the idea that our emotional health is completely correlated with our physical health? Want to heal physically? Work on your emotional health and you will see you physical health improve. This book will tell you how the body holds onto emotions and where they are stored. It's a wonderful tool, wish more people had this information.

eye-opening and fascinating
The innovative doctor and author, who is probably better known for his textbooks on Visceral Manipulation, has written this book in easy-to-read simple terms for everyone. And what an eye-opener it is. I learned a lot in terms of connectivity and how certain symptoms actually relate to specific organs. It's written with a global perspective on healing the human body (as opposed to restrictive North American training), and offers various avenues of guidance. Having been treated with Visceral Manipulation therapy and seen positive results, I also like that this book helps explain the foundation for the methodology. I highly recommend this book for anyone interested in the "how's and why's" of body function, as well as the basis for personal self-healing.

Good stepping stone
I bought this book over a year ago and have shown to other bodywork professionals. I was already into Barral's way of looking at emotional signals but wanted to see if there was anything I could add to what I knew. JP Barral gives a good all-round perspective upon the subjects he discusses and does so with great sympathy for the human form so, in that sense, will always be a good read and a good perspective to return to time and again. There will always be more digging to do for the eternally curious but this book will remain in my collection as a landmark to return to as I seek to learn more.
