STA 9 Power Amplifier - Black

The sound is absolutely lovely! I bought two and I'm using as a monoblock.Forget about Schiit, Emotiva, and other similar brands in the same price range.ABSOLUTELY GREAT PERFORMANCE!HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!

I bought this to compliment my Nuprime IDA-8, which has a beautiful sound, but lacks muscle. At 120 WPC, I had hoped that the STA-9 would "muscle up" my B&W 684 s2 speakers. Alas there was no discernable difference in bass or volume. Even bridged it made no difference. As a power amp was completely out performed by my grace digital! A good looking amp, it even feels like an amp in your hands Real cool factor. Was a painful experience packing up for return.. Amp was delivered in a timely fashion, and return was handled expediently by The Recording Store(beware of %15 restocking fee with this vendor). I love my IDA-8, but wish the new NAD hybrids had been available when I purchased it. I have owned many amps over the years(NAD, Bryston, Acurus, Rotel), and I really question all of Nuprime's power ratings. These components are for book shelf speakers only. I can't wait to pair my IDA-8 with a set of Pro ac Tablettes

I've been into audio for over a decade, I've been through several class A/B amps under $1k, and this little A/D amp just has the right EQing to beat them all. It's not neutral, but it's very close. The main area that stands out is the powerful and tight bass. Second is the very smooth treble. The imaging and soundstage remain intact, yet the treble is completely non-fatiguing. Pair this with a compact DAC/Pre and you've go the ultimate desktop system. Buy two of these and run them in mono, and you'll be able to power anything. Bargain of the century.
