Works as it should.
A fine product. Has a solvent to soften the polycarbonate surface and facilitate sanding. The key thing is the UV blocker. Makes the cover virtually transparent. Hopefully that coating will resist the sunlight for years. Highly recommend.

Very satisfied
15 year old vehicle with substantial hazing in both headlights. Was going to replace both but figured I’d try a cheaper option first. I first used 3M Headlight Lens Restoration kit, following all instructions and finished it up with this UV Clear coat. Application of the clear coat was super quick and easy. This clear coat process took maybe 10 min max. The restoration beforehand took about 1.5 hrs. Application-Folded pad, wet edge, and applied as shown in the instruction video on Slyvania’s website. Initially the clear coat goes on as a thin, contained liquid coat and quickly “thickens” to more of a thin gel coat as it starts to cure. I will say that if you just restored the lens, it can be difficult to see your clear coat swipe path so take time to look from various angles and use your light source to your advantage to see where your last swipe was. Swipe with uniform hand pressure so the application path is straight and easy to follow for the subsequent swipe. DO NOT TRY TO go back and touch up individual spots as you will likely smudge the coat surrounding that area. This is very tacky after you apply/starts to dry quickly. I thought I missed a small spot because of glare and against better judgment and instructions, I tried going back and lightly retouch it but since it was tacky, I made a small smudge and immediately stopped. That was my fault. If you overlap your swipe path as outlined in the instructions, it will go on smoothly and cover uniformly. I was hoping for at least a moderate improvement in clarity but the final appearance was even better than expected. 3 months after applying, and the results are still holding strong and look just like they did after initial application. The combination of 3m restoration kit and this Uv clear coat has proven to work excellent for me. I definitely recommend. I think the UV clear coat is integral in retaining your results after restoring the lens. I read other reviews of different restore kits and results varied and were not lasting. From my understanding, the lenses have a UV protectant coat when they’re manufactured and that is what eventually clouds, yellows, and or deteriorates. The restoration kits sand and buff off that layer in stages and it only makes sense that you’d have to apply a new UV clear coat afterwards to keep your results and protect the lenses from UV damage. When I shared before and after pictures with my friend, he thought I had actually installed new headlights. I regret not also restoring my fog lights in the process since they would have been quick.

Restores your headlight to like new
This product is amazing for headlight restoration. It is easy to use, and I think it will last long based on what i observed. My advice for any user is to ensure you sand your headlight very well, starting from about 450 and stepping up by about 200 grains each time, depending on how bad your headlight is. I purchased a separate sandpaper bunch for this purpose, and it helped. The instructions are there, but i will add that ensure you are using water as you sound the headlight, lots of water will not harm the process. The use of water is very essential. The result you will get is simply amazing. I had my headlights restored to like new after so many years of use. Also, when storing the UV light liquid, ensure you seal it properly, as it will solidify on contact with air. So, either you use the entire content at once for your three headlights or you ensure you find a way to airtight the UV Blocker. Overall, i think this product is excellent and i will recommend it for headlight restoration to like new.
