Q: Do you charge batteries with usb?

Yes. An adapter cord (battery plug to USB) is in the package. Use your phone power block or your computer (slower) or any USB source. Takes a couple of hours to recharge, so having two batteries lets you string out the fun. But then you have to wait.

Q: How is the variable speed on this boat? Can you drive at many speed ranges between?

The variable speed works fine. You can drive it really slow for more control and smaller spaces (a hotel pool) and up to fast enough to skip. It’s a simple knob control so that you can adjust instead of just 1 & 0. The capsize (getting it back upright) function is a little rough but works with practice too.

Q: Has anyone having trouble with water getting inside of boay then battery quits?

I have 2. Some water gets inside every time I use them, but it doesn't make the battery quit.
