Skar Audio VD-12 D4 12" 800W Max Power Dual 4 Ohm Shallow Mount Car Subwoofer

I got 2 of these subs for my truck. They have a very good build and look like they'll last. I’ve put quite a bit of stress on them and they still sound very good and powerful. I’m very satisfied with these subs and I would recommend them.

Best sounding sub I’ve owned out of alpine, kicker, Rockford. Finally got my custom under-seat .9 cu ft fiberglass sealed box structurally completed. (Ram 1500 quad cab 3rd gen) Added a little dynamat and poly fill. I put on 3 kinds of bass...wow! Music sounds very natural. Cleaner than any other sub I’ve owned. Smooth and tight, no tensile lead noise. I’m running off of a skar sk-m900.5 which is underrated at 450w into 2 ohms rms (only number that matters). This sub can take a lot more. Btw. I recommend the amp too. Oh, did I mention cheap! Beautiful! The only “negative “ is this isn’t an extremely shallow sub. Be aware of it’s still over 5” deep and the basket is wide. I messed up and placed my hole about 3/4” too far back and can’t install the sub square to box. Basket is probably about 85 degrees with respect to minting flang for about 2 1/2”. Push terminals will barely fit 2-10 awg if you run coils in parallel. 12 guage no problem.

I will say that I was skeptical purchasing this woofer about a year ago as I did not know of the manufacturer, but after watching some videos and reading reviews I went ahead and follow through with my purchase. If you're looking for a woofer that has value, I recommend this one. I've owned the 800w 12" for about a year now, placed in an older sealed box and hooked up to a discontinued Pioneer amp. I've had no issues with it, great sound output, but I will be ordering the ported pre-fab box Skar makes after doing some research on that as well as a "cleaner look" in the trunk since the older sealed box was bought from a pawn shop. I've pushed this thing to it's limit and a little past that (after break in period) and held up fabulous. Best woofer I've owned.

They don’t hit as I expected

Holy Moly, was not expecting the BASS out of this thing in my truck box. The only thing that you need to know is that youll probably need to cut out your box a little more for it to fit do to the wiring terminal design.

Love these subs. Look and sound great and hit like champs. Everything arrived well packaged and undamaged.Replaced two kicker comp-c subs that I've had for a while but tried to repurpose for a new set up.Got these for my 2016 GMC super crew and put them in a soundbox sealed enclosure and they sound amazing. Running a 1000x1 JL amplifier, turned way down right now but will add to review when I tune the subs later this week

500watt rms like it should and it only lasted 7 months.. sounded good before but shouldn't have blown.

These speakers were used to replace the 12" RT Kickers in my 2017 Roush F150. After about 4 years, the kickers finialy blew and I need an inexpensive replacement. These Skar 12" speakers hit hard. Just as hard or maybe harder than the Kickers. Initially, I was a little skeptical because I am not familiar with the brand name. I read an amazon review and price of under $100 each convinced me to try them. I thought it would not be much of a loss if I blew these also. I was completely and pleasantly surprised at the sound quality, volume, and pressure. You will feel bass these speakers produce with a good and subbox. I recommend a ported subbox. It is what I have.
