Boeing B-17 Fortress in RAF Coastal Command Service

Thorough coverage of a largely ignored B17 role
The author has dug deep to tell the story of the B17 in Coastal Command. B-24s, Sunderlands and Catalinas normally get the limelight and this volume remedies that. It has some good anecdotes and covers more than just the ASW work such as weather flights. The Azores section was interesting. Excellent work.

Great reference, high quality
This book is full of great, in-depth information on RAF Coastal Command operation of the B-17. The pages are printed with a satin finish and the photos within follow suit. Low quality images appear to be more than likely due to the fact the originals are upwards of 75 years old. The book also includes a great set line drawings noting version differences and several color profiles. I wish they did a book on the B-24!

Coastal Command Flying Fortress
A thoroughly interesting book. So little is written about Coastal Command. Most people think it was just a few Sunderlands! This tells the story of the aircraft and men who spent dangerous hours over the Atlantic on anti submarine and Met flights in Flying Fortresses from UK and The Azores. It has plenty of photographs and illustrations. It's not a heavy read. it will appeal to anybody who has an interest in aviation and WW2.I'm just reading it and enjoying again after a gap of a year.
