EXCELLENT!!!
If you have done the research as I did before purchasing or considering, then you have read most of the reviews here at Amazon and elsewhere and have viewed most of the videos. With that in mind, I used my Dewalt DCF899M1 today for the first time. (I wanted to be specific, so there is no confusion about the product in this review.)Yes. It is "Proudly Made in the USA." The impact wrench has the sticker on top and in the upper right hand corner of the box and on the side of the Dewalt Storage Bag - all as seen in the pictures and video(s)Yes. It's heavy which is good. It's an IMPACT wrench. It has a lot of torque. Imagine trying to hold on to the unit under extreme torque without the weight.Quality? You better believe it!! I'm a DIY yet I have compared this unit to friends' impact wrenches with the same name as the city in Wisconsin. (NOTE: Those are quality units too.) They were impressed and also a bit envious of the price I paid compared to what they paid for their units. (They are professional exotic car technicians.)I suppose it comes down to whether or not you believe that price always has a direct correlation to quality. This Dewalt impact wrench, in my opinion, demonstrates that "Made in America" can mean both "quality" and "value" (or very good value). In all fairness, there are good "quality" tools made in foreign countries under the guidance and design engineering of American companies which is good too. BUT.... the jobs being created are overseas. It's time to bring some (if not all) of those jobs home which is another reason why I bought my DeWalt.By the way, to Amazon's credit my impact wrench was shipped and delivered FAAAAAST!!! It was delivered one day earlier than expected.So... If you want quality and durability I highly recommend the Dewalt DCF899M1 unit. You will not be disappointed.NOTE: The additional product details are somewhat confusing. The "Country of Origin: China" possibly may be true for some of the units sold here. Mine definitely displays Made in the USA. As I recall, if a product is made elsewhere it cannot have Made in the USA stickers. Hope this helps....

So Good I Bought 2
The 899 is perfect for wheels and lugs. I bought my first about 5 years ago after a flat tire on my travel trailer and a seized lug that took an impact to get loose. Since then its saved me time changing a flat on the side of the road. And saved me energy in a recent suspension mod that required removing the rear wheels and some factory bolts. I decided to keep one in my truck.I chose the detent over the hog ring, but its still plenty stiff so I don't feel like I'm going to loose a socket. Though if your lugs are deeply recessed you might consider the hog ring. This is a heavy duty unit with a lot of mass. Touque in hand isn't overly noticeable. But again, it has no trouble with stubborn bolts/nuts. If you were buring lags in wood, I'm sure this would make short work. I can't comment on run time but with i keep mine with a 4ah XR and it works fine for my purpose. If you're planning on using this in a shop, I'd recommend 3 batteries and two chargers that way you always have power at the ready. Overall, I'm quite impressed. It's some of Dewalt's best design and craftsmanship.***Note: Only use an impact to remove lugs. NEVER tighten lugs with an impact gun!!!***

Has the power when needed
I love this! Beats the heck out of long breaker bars and jumping up and down to break difficult bolts. Now it's just a matter of slipping on the right socket, fitting it to the nut and pressing the trigger. ZAP! Off comes the fastener and I just grin. Well Worth the money especially when I consider all the sore or pulled muscles it has saved me. There should be one in everyone's tool box. I even carry it in my vehicle in case there is someone on the side of the road or parking lot who needs help. Grins everywhere.

Glad I had this 1/2" DeWalt impact wrench
Actually I wanted this for my 71st birthday present. I had taken apart a 40" mower deck which had a good 20 3/8" carriage bolts holding the shaft driven drive assembly that power a belt to two pulley's, to the mower deck itself and it is a pain trying to secure the round carriage head bolts into the square retainer lip on the mower deck and then trying to use a ratchet socket/wrench to tighten the crimp nut at the same time. The impact driver worked better than planned. I used the slowest speed, number 1 of the three available. I did the 20 retainers, plus a couple of more that held other things onto the deck, all with 3/8" carriage bolts. Done very quickly and a lot less cursing and broken knuckles. The battery when checked was still on the full charge indicator to. I wanted the heavy duty DeWalt impact wrench, since most of the things I do are a lot bigger than 3/8" bolts, it is a bit big and heavy, but not a problem for me, it might be for a smaller person. They also make a mid size 1/2" drive impact wrench, It probably would have done just fine also. I am never disappointed with DeWalt tools, have a full array of them. Good stuff and durable.

Thing is massive and does a decent job
I don't think this will ever hold up to a pneumatic, but it does a really good job for electric. I bought this because it was the best that I found DeWalt has to offer for this... I'd never have to buy anything bigger from them. That being said... it's kind of too big for most projects. This thing is massive and heavy. I would never use this thing for anything small so I'm fairly limited when I will use it. But when I wanted it... I was glad I had it. It was able to break most of my lugnuts but the one it couldn't do was the one I almost couldn't do by hand with a 4way because it was way over tightened by the shop. It also struggled on a rusty shock bolt, but it eventually got there.
