Square Enix Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (2014) Open Region - PlayStation 4

Expect a 10gig patch but that is of course...to be expected. Setup was easy enough, just go into PSN and redeem the key and then exit out and start Reborn. The game will then update launcher and get you to either create an account or link the PS4 version to your current account. You can play FFXIV on the same account via ny system (PC, PS4, PS3) provided you have a license for each. You then just wait for it to patch, for me it took about 2 hours at an average of 1.6 mb/s.Free month still applies. It was added to my account when I added the license.Great game, player numbers are being bolstered by the mass exodus of players from WoW. A good time to grab this and dive in.

Great item! The graphics are really quite good on the PS4 for this game. It is incredibly smooth and stable. The only down side is that you have to renew this with pre-paid cards and not with money from psn network. This is the US version so you have to buy US pre-paid game time cards. That is a major downer, as I am living here in Japan. How can I continue to play this game online? Otherwise I would have given this game a 5 star rating. I knocked it down one star because of the difficulty of re-newing the play time.

There are many great MMOs (Guild Wars, League of legends, WOW, etc), but when it comes to mmorpgs it was difficult to find something suited just for me. I love Final Fantasy, and I've played every game in the series save for XI and XIV. I never played XI but I had always heard about it, I read about the games story and listened to the music. In 2010 when Final Fantasy XIV came along I thought I'd miss out yet again, except 5 long years later I finally played the game for free 30 days before making the decision to buy! I love this game and here is why!:PROS:Epic Storyline; everywhere you look theres a story and as you play the game you build up your very own.Graphics are gorgeous; Final Fantasy XIII may have had the best visuals in the series so far, and XV may have the very best overall. But this game has visuals you would not believe until you saw for yourself, I would implore you that as you game, take a look around and ponder the wonders this game has to offer.Job System; my first question was where do I start? And the game will more than compensate you once you level up your starting job. Obtaining and changing into other jobs requires time and patients, but it's worth it! And even if you dont have the job you want you can strive for another one!There is no limit to what you can explore!Look at everything and make friends! I realize this is what true mmos are about, a great community and a very fun rpg!ConsWhen you get an activation code for ps4 version make sure you register it on PS network, NOT mogstation. I had this trouble for days and it pissed me off. Mog station will allow you to transfer characters or register Windows or Mac but you can't register ps4 on mog station. Also the system of transferring characters and moving from one world to a new world is a pain. Be careful what world you select because your character will only be assigned ONE. You cannot transfer your character over to a new world.

Absolutely love this game. This takes every MMORPG like World of Warcraft or Star Wars The Old Republic and meshes the good parts while fixing the stuff you always found annoying. You can be any class on one character by just equipping a different weapon. You can fork off your overflowing inventory to one of your two retainers inventories. It's just wonderful. It's also the only cross-platform game I can think of. My fiancee has the PC version, I have the PS4, I used to have the PS3, and it makes absolutely no difference. I can't say how much I love this game enough. There's a free 2 week trial out now where you can do most things (can't send messages, can't get any class past lvl 20, etc), but gives you a good feel for the game.

VERY well optimized for the controller scheme.. As a PC gamer myself as well, I thoroughly enjoyed it on my PS4.PROS- Graphics are great for an MMO of this scale on a console.-Very well optimized for controller.-Feels like old school FF.-Musical score is amazing.-Characters are likeable.-Story is pretty good.-LOTS and LOTS of content to do.-Hardly any bugs at all (that i've noticed anyways)-Subscription based model (monthly) which makes for better servers imo.-Only $40 or less new and free for PS3 upgraders.CONS:-Framerate ,while pretty good in some areas,falls below 30 sometimes during fates and larger scale battles (rarely durring small scale)-good amount of grinding.-Monthly subscription based.(15USD a month),though this model is HIGHLY subjective to each user..so this is both a pro and a con imo.I'll update along the way if need be with more time playing it. happy gaming and i hope this review helped :)
